Buzz: iPhone 5 arrives September 21, demand 'unprecedented'

Re: What more do people want from a pocket device?

+1

Exactly! if you already own an iPhone 4/4s even a 3Gs and you already know that all your apps will run on the iPhone 5, why would you bother to shell out the 500+ GBP/EUR for it? will it perform other miracles that your current iPhone doesnt? not likely.

I replaced my first smart phone (an Android device) with a Galaxy S because it broke. 2 years later and there still isn't a phone in the shops that will bring any more real world functionality. So I find myself waiting for a new Moto RAZR MAXX why? you guessed it the Galaxy S broke and the RAZR MAXX should do what my Galaxy did but for a little longer than a whole day....hopefully

Re: But

As an underprivileged child growing up on the "F'all-to-do" Isle Of Wight, I often found myself drinking White Lighting (because its was 1.37 a liter) , and you are correct; This drink seriously hampers your ability to do anything, including playing pool!

Euro data roaming price cut too shallow

r3ality66

Not enough!

Looks like I will continue to buy my phones sim/contract free and buying local PAYG sims.

I got stung by a 1500 Euro data bill around 3 years ago, while roaming in Sweden on a German Vodafone contract. I just logged on to online banking to transfer some funds on the fly, 46MB(ish) around 32 Euro per MB! I tried to argue with Vodafone that this was not on, but they insisted that it wasn't their charges, but was in fact the charges of the Swedish network passed on.

shortly after paying, I got a sim free phone and PAYG sim and Ive never looked back!

This at least should prevent that kind of shock happening to people but its still too expensive to even use your phone for normal everyday browsing.

High school student expelled for dropping F-bomb in tweet

Fair Cop

I think its fair to say that he probably broke the schools IT acceptable use policy. But expulsion, for this seems harsh.

That said, if the schools IT acceptable use policy clearly states the consequences, he will have known what could happen for breaking it.

As for any foul play or talk of violating his human or constitutional right to privacy or free speech, I don't think so. Its standard practice for companies to monitor employees activities on their systems, why should an educational establishment be any different? His comment was posted on a publicly accessible site, the School broke no laws or even moral ground in monitoring it!

Happy twittering!
