This is a huge one! During my second ever IT trip, to Spain we were bringing up a new office. Everything ready, cat5 cabling, new hubs, router, servers (Including an HP3000 to date this story) Major language barrier as well. Electrician says all is ready to go. Everything plugged in and the breaker switched on. Bang! Everything connected blew. Then spent a good few days getting power supplies repaired etc. Always carry a small multimeter (In the UK I also take a test plug) Can save nightmares..
