I was having chronic freezing with Firefox last week so disabled the few add-ons i have and worked out it was Xmarks causing the trouble so I configure FFs own sync tool and sacked off Xmarks and all is well with the world (caveats apply!).

I don't think you can blame this one on off-shoring. It's a very British problem.

I'm still running an insider preview build that is set to Release Preview updates and it's upgraded itself to 1607 with no problems.

Admittedly it isn't my everyday machine and is running BOINC and not much else but it does update and keep running.

TalkTalk scam-scammers still scam-scamming

My wife nearly gave one of these scammers access to her laptop a couple of months ago, it was only our daughter crying that stopped it happening. They then phoned back 3 times a day for 2 weeks trying the same trick. It prompted us to take up TTs offer of free CLI. The calls have now died off but I really must move away from TT as they are a truly awful company.

Why haven't the ICO come down like a ton of bricks on TT? Has anybody ever been prosecuted over this (either TT or the scammers?)

The shuttle did get an escape system but only after the Challenger disaster. Most astronauts privately said it was completely useless as trying to eject from a vehicle going several thousand miles an hour is a lost cause anyway. Abort to orbit was an option for the shuttle which kind of tells you all you need to know about an object being hurtled vertically by an engine that can't be turned off (solid fuel boosters at least).

I use Firefox and it gets slower to load with every iteration. I could have told them that, they didn't need to write it in to the code.
