Yeah I agree - I used to allow ads when it was 1-2 before a video. They started interrupting videos mid-view I started blocking completely.

Don't quote this as gospel but I seem to recall reading that in a recent version they reverted this and they are now just straight ROM images. I think it was due to some licensing issues that were sorted out. I just wish I could remember where I read this!

Going one step further, there have been things I was considering buying that I decided not to because their ads were overly obnoxious. Their competitors who didn't flood me with ads got the sale.

I am actually excited about this. They were admittedly limited and temperamental (and many models even lacked colour) but I actually find I sometimes miss having a computer that you can know inside and out exactly what was going on and you had bare-metal access to the hardware.

I wouldn't use one for word-processing or anything however!
