Climate-cooling effect 'stronger than volcanoes' is looking solid

Re: Hide the Decline....

Here's the abstract from the Science article:

"Criegee intermediates (CIs) (1) are the main intermediates in atmospheric reactions between ozone and organic molecules, resulting in the formation of free radicals, organic acids, carbonyl compounds, and organic aerosols. Such reactions contribute to local photochemical smog and global climate change."

What you seem to be saying is that we just need a little more pollution and everything will be OK, ignoring the impact of photochemical smog on human health and a host of other issues....

Congratulations, copyright infringers: You are the five per cent

Re: The customer defines value

Ah, the moral indignation!

"The creator" is a government-cradled corporation that lives in a world devoid of ethical considerations: it is only in it for the money, and it will say, do, or purchase anything and anyone it feels stands in the way of the bottom line. That includes artists, writers, students, children, the entertainment-starved masses, and of course legislators.

Theoretically, ol' Teddy Roosevelt busted the trusts at the turn of the 20th Century. Realistically, the playing field is no longer tilted, it has been dissolved.

US diplomat: If EU allows 'right to be forgotten' ... it might spark TRADE WAR

A plea from across the pond

As an American, I can only hope that the EU stands its ground.

It would be nice if my President would reward Mr. Rogers with a dismissal for his idiotic and threatening statement, but the odds of that are beyond remote. My government no longer responds to its citizens -- it has been taken over by fear-mongering warthogs and corporate thieves. I have this silly, quaint idea that my data belongs to me. Imagine!

Global warming COULD SHRINK THE HUMAN RACE

Warm-blooded animals might need to "shrink" down in response to high global temperatures, but cold-blooded animals (reptiles...insects) would likely respond by getting larger, not smaller....
