And they wonder
Why the US military and other government departments were worried about them buying the IBM laptop business? Wonder if Huawei do the same then they really would have a field day.

I feel your pain. I was quite lucky in the fact that I could read the contents of the drive from my now broken Buffalo linkstation and was able to copy them to a new device. Now I use a Synology NAS in RAID 6 configuration (4 disks) which is backed up to a USB attached drive (just to copy my photos and music). I also have a second Synology NAS I am able to use as well another Buffalo Linkstation. Not that i'm paranoid or anything, but they WILL fail!
Samsung TV's have the Amazon Prime app, the Plex media player, BBC iPlayer plus all the other catch-ups and I'm sure their competitors do too. OK, not everyone has a fancy "smart" TV but even so, it must be a gamble in this day an age with margins so tight to be releasing a piece of hardware like this, especially one tied down to a particular service.
Isn't that what ultimately did for the non-UK based satellite services offering Premier League games cheaply to pubs? The broadcasting and receiving of them was OK, but as soon as the Premier League logo appears, it became breach of copyright and therefore illegal to show. I would of thought the same thing applies here, incl. Sky logos and any other advertising, team logo's and presumably any breach of image rights the players may have.
Sorry state of affairs though and just one more reason to hate Murdoch and the Premier league. best league in the World my arse.
Agreed. I've been with them for several years now, via Sky & O2(before Sky bought them) and have found them to be very reliable and easy to deal with.
(also in no way related to the fact I just got an upgrade to their 150Mb/s service, saving myself £5 per month in the process for a one-off fee of £5)
Yeah they tried all of that, even changing the signal somehow on the nearest base station (Hey,I'm just quoting their "technical support" don't down vote the messenger), still didn't work and would have only fixed at home anyway, no good as soon as we stepped out the door.
I quite like the idea of a Femocell, are they like a bunch of women that come round your house to make up for the loss of signal?
