Re: Not a fair trial
I find similar - Gemini or ChatGPT are reasonably good at explaining test results and helping to unpick some of why the GP might have recommended a specific treatment or approach. Of course you should treat their advice the same as what Dr. Google tells you, but you can get quite a lot of conversational help using these tools. For blood tests, you can just take a photo of the result slip and it'll read the text and tell you what the 'normal range' is and what to ask the GP about at the next appointment. They both seem to be fairly good at finding exercises on the internet to help with specific mobility improvements. You could easily get there with a search but what it says matches what physiotherapists have told me in the past and I was too lazy to look up myself. Gemini can even create notes in Google Keep for you with lists of things to do and link up YouTube examples of people doing it so you can see the form.
To be absolutely clear - everyone knows LLMs hallucinate and are desperate to please you, but bear that in mind and verify what it's telling you before doing anything. Ideally use it only as a way to prepare yourself for the next consultation and you'll get a long way to efficiently making use of your GPs skills. I firmly believe they can be a useful addition to the healthcare armoury with the proper level of validation and skepticism.
