Lesser-spotted Raspberry Pi FINALLY dished up

Re: All I had was a Z80 and a handful of switches

Excuse me, but for a valve you'll need at least 3v for the filament ( at a good 100mA bare minimum ) and 15V for the Anode/Cathode to be able to work properly.

I seriously doubt that you'll get this kind of power from a single potato and 2 nails.

Obviously, with a good bag of potatos it would be another matter entirely.

So it wasn't over hunting ?

I've always been induced to think that over hunting by man is what made those big species disappear.

So it seems we're not at fault this time.

Oil recuperator for the compressor

It would be good to put a nice long vertical pipe at the exit of the compressor, to allow the oil to condense and slide to the bottom and a capilar at the bottom recirculating said oil to the compressor admission pipe.

Else, you may add some oil to the admission pipe before connecting the compressor to REHAB, so it won't run dry too quickly.

As the compressor is for R134a, best use non mineral oil, and in a pinch, 5WD20 oil will do fine for a while.

I know that probably will be a 1 run system, but would be a pity to be unable to do a re-run because of a dead compressor.

Self balancing strings

Hi!

If you attach a string from each balloon, entering 1/3 into the truss and attached to the battery, when one balloon starts going higher than the other, the string will pull the weigth to its side, keeping the system balanced. If needed, weight displacement can be amplified with a lever.

Replicators ahoy

Now we just need :

1 - Cheap energy

2 - Atomic manipulators

3 - Bulk atomic sources

Re: Cook your toast

I think that you'll find that :

1 - At 60GHz, the toast will be left mostly untouched by the RF energy.

2 - In the case of 2.4GHz (uW oven) the toat will be hot, but flappy. Best use the link to heat ramen.

Cooling in space

In think that cooling in space is a little problem, becuase of the good isolating properties of vaccumm.
