World+Dog to demand ever larger tablet-phones

Dell Streak, Galaxy Note

The Dell Streak (5" screen) was the first in this category - it was very good, but not supported well by Dell. I'm now on a Galaxy Note (5.3" screen) and it's great - the screen makes it great to use on the web and for applications. Vastly better support & professionalism from Samsung than we had from Dell.

The successor to the Dell Streak

The Dell Streak 5 had the same form factor, it was a great phone for browsing & games. Unfortunately it failed (probably because a) people got intimidated about it's size, and b) a lack of commitment + marketting mistakes from Dell). Personally I think it's a mistake to call a 5" device a tablet.

Good luck to the Note, it deserves to do well (the only caveat being the eye watering cost).

Contaminated Land... nope

As Embraman has already pointed out ... "A Scottish beach has been cordoned off as a "contaminated land" by environmental-protection authorities" is just not true.

Yeah, I was thinking the same myself. Deja-news all over again. This paper hit the news quite a while back, and for some reason has suddenly hit the news again. My bet would be that someone sent out a press-release.

It's 99% certain that the OPERA result will turn out to be an artifact of some sort - and I'm sure that virtually everyone involved at OPERA think the same thing. It's just that they don't know what that artifact actually is, and they want to find out. My bet would be that it'll turn out to be a problem with synchronising the time between the two locations.
