E-book readers attract unwanted VAT

No 10 petition

As an expat on assignment out of the UK for a year, ebooks are a godsend given the weight limits, import restrictions, etc. of the country I am in. And I use my smartphone as an ebook reader so the environmental cost of the reader is nothing because I had the phone already. Well, maybe I charge the battery slightly more now.

Of course, here's a petition that might actually do something:

House!

The only reason to watch the channel(s) is House. But that's a damn good reason. It's also a bingo joke.

If Alexander goes, Harman will have to too

Although the real issues are more complicated, the public will see that if one Labour politician resigns over less than a thousand quid, those embroiled in allegations of more will be forced to go, even if they were actually less dodgy.

Some think that London Labour is pressuring Alexander to stay and take the flak for this reason.

What mine?

The trick is that this question was from the 70s/80s and now there are no working mines left anymore, so the whole question is pointless. Of course, GCSE History or Modern Studies probably won't include 80's politics, so kids wouldn't know that either.
