Vultures this way

Don't know anything about Compuware, but Singer and co (aka: the Vulture Funds) have been having a great time around the world trying to get money 'owed' to them by Argentina - including having an Argentinian naval ship impunded in Ghana of all places..! Thumb Up

Pardon

I think the point is that a pardon is only appropriate when new evidence comes to light that strongly suggests that the person was never guilty in the first place. It's not appropriate (or even necessarily a good thing^TM) to give a pardon if the 'offence' has simply been decriminalised subsequently (although you could possibly make the argument for wiping convictions where the 'criminal' is still alive..)

Actually the law makes sense on one level..

Think about it: If every 'blogger' (easily extended to include anyone who posts anything online at all) counts as a journalist in the eyes of the law, then you might as well scrap defamation laws completely, since you could say anything you like about any person or organisation, and when they sue you for libel, you just argue that the piece was factually accurate and that you have a source who you're entitled to not reveal..
