Wages are so low here I'd not be surprised if the country was being eyed up as an alternative manufacturing and outsourcing zone.

Google Glass to recognize you by your FASHION SENSE

Why not a link to a web data base ((Facebook perhaps) and with facial recognition and tagging that will automatically pull up compromising or naked pictures of who you are looking at. Of course the software will necessitate a male female filter just in case.

Now where can I buy one.

US lawmaker blames bicycle breath for global warming gas

Tax cyclists, not only do they breath more but they hold up cars, forcing drivers to accelerate past them increasing CO2.

Tax caravans as they create more CO2 with their gas bottles and the increased fuel consumption towing them.

Huawei CEOs are 'migratory birds'

LarsG

Here in the UK we have this merry go round

We see the migratory CEO phenomenon, but not within the same company. It's usually CEO' s employed by the public sector local authorities and banks who get massive payouts when they fail in their role, then the old boys network picks them up and finds them a similar job in the industry, pays them ridiculous amounts of money even with their poor track records. Their reputation is then 'bigged up' until they fail again and walk away with a massive payout and perks. Cue the merry go round again, and again and again.

Megaupload extradition bid - Feds WON'T have to hand in their evidence

LarsG

Normally

New Zealand judges generally have the balls to say it as it is, but sadly I think there has been a bit of political pressure from very high up brought to bear on this case.

I'm sure that when it gets to the next stage of appeal the higher court will do what is right and demand ALL the evidence.

Face it, if they are allowed to get away with this then the USA need only point a finger and say 'we got evidence so send him here' and that will be that, New Zealand the next new state to join after the UK admission.

Here in the UK our judges lack the balls to stand up for what is right and it would be nice to see NZ stick two fingers up and tell the US to FO.

This was forecast

This was forecast when they started, an unsustainable business model that does not make profit but increases losses year after year.

One interesting thought, how much do those at the top put in their pockets, bet the directors are getting nice bonuses and drive expensive cars. Still when it fails I am sure they will be protected, but I bet those who had already bought vouchers and the businesses that bought into the scheme will be the ones out of pocket.

Council IT bod in the dock for flogging scrap work PC parts

LarsG

PC disposals of PC equipment

I'm sure the council have a politically correct disposal system in place whereby the computers are sent to Nigeria or Asia for disposal of parts. Of course the council will pay a third party to collect and dispose of the items, the third party will then provide the council with an income, usually no more than 3% of the profits.

Although this guy was a 'thief' he was actually saving them money, and if they have been enlightened, which most councils are not, they could have gone 50/50 on the profits. It would also have saved the parts being dismantled by child labour on the Africa or Asian continent.

He should have put the business proposal to them, that was his mistake.

Bill Gates: Windows Phone strategy was 'a mistake'

LarsG

Don't knock Ballmer, the fact remains that the windows phone debacle has been going on for some time, just like most other successful CEO's of companies the ones that everyone worships and adores usually get out in the nick of time.

They usually know when it is time to go, leaving the company and letting the shi*t hit the fan and someone else taking the blame. 'We were always successful during my tenure!' they will claim, but during their tenure they left a lot of unanswered paperwork in the bottom draw.

Cue the 'new' guy, he takes over sits behind the desk and opens the bottom draw...... They are then left to try and put things right.

Happens all the time, the problems withy he windows phones started many years ago.

We've lived with this in the UK for years, happens on everything from computers to cars, the excuse is always that it is more expensive to import goods to the UK, something to do with being surrounded by water.

Windows Phone 8 hasn't slowed Microsoft's mobile freefall
