Google mounts legal challenge to surveillance gag orders

Misdirection, misinformation, disinformation

It's a way to take the heat off the NSA and change the headlines in the paper.

The Government will give in

The statistics they produce will be massaged and cleansed

The public will get the figures

The Government will claim transparency

Case closed.

But will we or should we believe them?

Increased cell phone coverage tied to uptick in African violence

LarsG

Re: sigh

No you are wrong.

Look at a map of Africa, then note all the straight lines used to show the borders of each country.

Note that there are an abnormal number of straight borders.

Now blame the colonial powers, France, UK, Belgium, Germany, Holland and Portugal.

They were the ones that arbitrarily drew the straight lines without any regard or consideration the the people of Africa.

Next blame all the despots that rule the African countries.

Don't blame the tribes or the mobile phone.

Re: stop reading a bit early, did we?

Actually no, It was a facetious (flippant) comment that crops up from time to time here.

You need to chill and put your less serious head on, and don't forget to watch out for someone sitting behind you with a desktop gaming rig the next time you sip your latte in Starbucks.

I despair I really do, where has the humour gone?

I'm not even going to downvote you because frankly it's not worth the effort.

Gosh I've just realised, you are American are you not, that explains it.

LarsG

So other than being hacked without knowing about it by the NSA, you'd need to be in the vicinity of the person and their hotspot, load up your laptop or desktop that has top graphics card and then hang around for around an hour to crack the password having downloaded a dictionary.

However wouldn't using other symbols and numbers or none words make life a lot harder and negate the use of the dictionary?

Not bad

Not a spectacular looker, but on the face of it, it does look polished. Ok, so there are a few less features that an S4 but who uses them all anyway.

Not a bad effort if the battery stands up to abuse and use. My favourite hardware feature is the built in phone home to China chip. You'll always know where it is, brilliant.

The Sun @h3

The fact that the Sun is the most read paper in Britain in indicative of the of the education system which has been dumbed down over the past 40 years by successive left wing Governments with the collusion of the teaching profession, who instead of aspiring to be better, dumbed down to the lowest common denominator.

Don't blame Murdoch for it, he's just the businessman who found a market for it.

An example was hearing a History teacher telling a class the evacuation from Dunkirk happened in WW1.

I love it too, judging by the negative reaction from Fandroids who insist on buying Samsung phones with features that scream at you but don't perform, the design has hit the spot.

The reaction is a barometer.

The greater the negative reaction from Fandroids is an indicator that the iPhone has hit the sweet spot again.

There is always someone who will jump onto the political correctness bandwagon, someone who will find offence in some comment or situation.

These are people who just go out of their way to find offence in some form or another without looking into the context of the situation.

While such things should never be condoned the rule of common sense should be applied, but unfortunately the PC thought police are now firmly established.

Let's just see what they come up with, there will be plenty to slag them off with on Monday.

Once you get to a certain age

I used to love fixing my old Alfa Romeo when I was 18, messing with twin carbs,, adding an Ansa exhaust alloy wheels. Getting it to go faster, making it louder.....

Then one day I wanted more comfort, a quieter car, got fed up with oil dripping on my drive, getting rid of rust....

I just wanted something that was quick, quiet, worked and was so reliable that I just needed it serviced once in a while.

That is the target market for the iPhone, it's for the 'been there done that and had a wild time, got a,career, a new car, a house, now I've got kids I want things to work and be frustration free' market.

I visited London last week, after a 20 year break and reminded myself why I left. Once you get to a certain age....... I don't need that kind od S*** any more.
