I had my account emptied too.
I havn't clicked any scam links and the username and password are unique to Xbox Live, so there is no risk of it being obtained from elsewhere.
This sounds like a hack to me, but it's conveniently being blamed on phishing. Something stinks at Redmond on this one.
Microsoft are copying apple with the walled garden approach. you can't write apparel that might mean undercutting microsoft, you can't make web browsers for windows phone (opera mini an mobile have been cancelled due to MS rules).. and any content only works via Microsoft.
its all sounding very applelike, from a company Just as evil.
out of the 3, Google at least give me stuff for my info. the others take it for free. font be fooled that apple or microsoft font know just as much about you.
Why would anyone waste £170 on ANY of the Blu-Ray players on this list in that pricerange, when a PS3 can be gotten for £179 that does everything they do and a whole lot more besides...
By not including on this list, turns it into a pointless "gadget show" list of randomly cherry-picked players.
uncharted 1 & 2 are the best games on any system of,any generation bar none. I had no doubts uncharted 3 wouldnt raise the bar even higher, making all other games look inferior by a large margin.
to get the best from uncharted 3, make sure you play the predecessors in order. the story and characters build
in EVERY category. I don't recall a game ever getting that... Having started playing Uncharted 3, so far it totally deserves it.
I recall how in awe I was in Uncharted2 when you got on the train. You ain't see nothing it, Uncharted 3 takes it to a new level...
Raises the bar and then some.
was scheduled to coincide with Job's death (to give the lacklustre product the launch hype it needed), rather than when it was actually finished...
in true Microsoft style, launch it when the marketing people tell you it's ready, rather than when the engineers tell you it's ready.
LOL, from what I can see both Google and Apple make smartphones (like Ford and Toyota make cars), and Apple are the ones stealing stuff.
I mean iOS5 steals Android notifications, it steals Androids voice control, iOS4 stole Android's multi-tasking and folders.
I’m betting that iOS6 will steal Android widgets.
So how’s that mission to destroy Android going then Steve???? Not very well it seems....
As this is standard legal speak, infact other companies use the same wording, but guess what, nobody is beating them up....

Aren't you embarrased how easilly you can be manipulated by a bogus news story? Even Paris didn't fall for this tripe.
The masses are buying iPads because thats all they know. They havn't bothered to get off their fat lazy arses and look at anythung else.
If Steve Jobs says its the best, then it must be the best. That's how they think, why would he lie...
They are the idiots, as there are plenty of better and cheaper devices out there...
How Opera works:
http://my.opera.com/securitygroup/blog/2011/08/30/when-certificate-authorities-are-hacked-2
Whilst all browsers support revokation, only Opera does the full deal including dealing with blocked revokation responses. Opera also has an online repository of blacklisted root CA's which your browser will periodically check.
This is why Chrome and Firefox have issued emergency updates and Opera does not need to.
Asus alone are shifting 1m Asus Transformers a month, 3m a quarter, plus there are all the Xooms and Galaxy Tabs.
Surely Android in total must be knocking at the door of iPad sales numbers? Sure it's not a single supplier that's doing it, but that will come next.
And as for this tripe about Amazon being able to make a GOOD and CHEAP Android tablet, it's not going to happen. A decent IPS panel with a capacitive touchscreen it over £100 component cost, so you are looking at £199 AT BEST for something that is of adequate quality.
The raft of cheap and nasty £150 Android 2.2 tablets should be enough of a indicator to everyone that it's not currently possible to make something good for less than £200 at retail.
None of these tablets are proper Androd tablets, for that you have to pay proper money and be running the tablet version of Android (Honeycomb). These are all running a hacked smartphone OS, and this be what Apple fanboys (wrongly) think all Android tablets are like.
A proper Honeycomb Android tablet like the Asus Transformer, The Galaxy Tab, The Xoom, will totally spank all of these (and the iPad2)..
Last year Microsoft told everyone to hate Sony. This year Microsoft have refocused on mobile and have simply told the media to cancel the last order and tell all your readers to hate Google.
That is really how fucked up the internet is, the men with the most money can tell sites like this what to tell everyone through the power of advertising budgets.
Anyone that can't work this out frankly is a utter moron. Nobody at El-Reg works for free, where do you think the money to pay the wages comes from.....
Is that you spend so much time faffing around with webpages and registering with BZOpenZOne and trying to log in just to get that "free" wifi.
My Wetherspoons offers free Wifi, but in it's current guise, it's too much fucking around to get online, so I don't bother. I "suffer" with 3.5G..
They seem to be making it up as they go along, as I clearly remember Canonical giving me the big FUCK YOU when they dropped ARM support for my Sheeveplug from Ubuntu 9.10(Karmic) ...
I have since moved to Debian anyway, who didn't leave me in the lurch with their knee-jerk decisions...
"With Google's purchase of Motorola's mobile division for a whopping $12.5bn, competing manufacturers are scrambling to find ways to remain relevant. "
Says who? All these competing manufacturers seem very supportive of the Google takeover, and all their shares jumped significantly off the back of it.
This just seems to be following the Microsoft remit. Last year El-Reg were told to badmouth Sony, this year, Microsoft's new target is Google and Microsoft are instructing their media mouthpieces to badmouth anything Google related.
at all the idiot "experts" that can't tell the difference between a 99p iPhone game and a proper mobile console game...
Seems any moron can call themselves an analyst these days, and i'm betting there are "analysts" for hire that will say anything you want them to say, Microsoft and Apple seem to employ them by the dozen.
Is anyone REALLY stupid enough to believe that this won't be permenently overturned, and Apple forced to pay Samsung a shitload of money, just like LG had to pay Sony a shitload of money last year over the 2 week PS3 ban over something that turned out to be a load of old chaff....
As they are also driving around sniffing Wifi and tying them to locations....
http://blogs.technet.com/b/microsoft_on_the_issues/archive/2011/07/01/microsoft-shares-source-code-for-wi-fi-data-collection-software.aspx
Personally out of all the Evil companies, Microsoft are the worst, and I suspect whey they show here are what they actually use are two very different things...
