We have tremendous over-population so if a few people want to off themselves to help out, it's fine by me. A report last week showed that pedestrians with headphones on that are killed walking in front of cars has increased by 300% so that's another help, but the headphones of course are lost as a result.
Why not make prisoners slaves? They willingly chose to violate law so now they can earn their freedom back after 10-20 years of slavery. There is no God given right to violate law or need to treat criminals with kid gloves. You get what you earn in this life, not what you chose to steal.
The last thing we need is people with more carry-on luggage. On flights I've been on recently you'd think people we're moving across the globe and they are carrying every frigging thing they own in 27 carry-on bags. Maybe they should ride in the cargo hold for a flight or two so they get the idea?
Some folks are disappointed that the FX series isn't an Intel i7 killer but it was never advertised to be. For all practical purposes almost any CPU will more than meet the demands of mainstream PC users. The overclocking potential of Zambezi based CPUs seems to be 4.5 GHz. on air which is pretty cool considering the price.
I have no doubt AMD will sell a bunch of Zambezi chips even if some folks are disappointed that they don't out perform Intel's i7s.
The intent of the OC'ing exercise was not to benchmark the CPU or run Prime 95. It was as other similar events have been - just to see how high the CPU could be overclocked and function. Some CPUs... like Intel have an issue with extreme cold and do not function well. The OC'ing exercise was to demonstrate for those who like extreme OC'ing, that the new Bulldozer architechture based AMD chippies do not have a cold function defect like other chippies.
Perhaps the most noteworthy comment from the AMD folks was that Zambezi chips will easily run over 5 Ghz. on good air cooling.
Trinity will be a big jump in performance from Llano so it should be well received. Llano is far better than Intel's terrible IG. APUs are a smart move for both performance and power reduction. AMD has the lead on them and is likelty to maintain it for at least a few years from the looks of it.
BTW the news this week is due to Intel's IDF. AMD always shows new products at a venue near by so attendees get a true picture of the near future and not just a snow job by Intel.
The U.S. and others have already folied several terrorist plots due to better intelligence but you can't stop all terrorism. We need to live in the real world and it's full of whackos hellbent on killing as many people as they can in the name of some crusade. The use of all technology available to stop these animals is justified IMO. I'm far more concerned about terrorism than some imposition or perceived loss of privacy from intelligence gathering.
More like guy breaks into a military facility, (which is a crime), rifles through documents, (also a crime), get's caught and now cries Asswipers Disease. He may be an incompetent hacker but he is still a hacker and criminal and that's why he will go to prison for a long time.
