Skype slurping software threatens IP exposure

curlywurly

I'm moved to the US, and found Skype2Go/Skype out to be one of the least expensive options for calling from my US mobile to a UK mobile, yes, you can get deals on international calling from US mobile to UK landline, but interantional mobile to mobile, well I couldn't find many lower cost options, and I refuse to give AT&T any more many than I need.

I used Tango now as well, if I'm on WiFi, and the other person I'm calling is on WiFi, it is in esssence free, and has few neat tools, I also found the audio better than Skype.

Apple TV third-generation (2012)

ATV1 with XBMC still a smart choice

I nearly bought an ATV2, in the end I bought a modified ATV1 for $145 inc shipping - why?

Well it runs XBMC, has the Broadcom decoder chip in so does 1080 just fine thank you, just slots into where the WiFi went (you can't have both), but streaming HD over Wifi is not pratical anyway, so no great loss there.

So, I paid about the same as I would for an ATV2, but also have USB tethering 1080, composite out, still handy from time to time, can't do that on the ATV2, all works fine with my Logitech Harmony remote, all fed of my unRAID media server.

Best Buy slams brakes on UK stores amid spending freeze

It just depends

Best Buy have their place, yes some of the gear is pretty low end , but they do have some higher end kit, mainly TV's, which have seem to have a high turn-over rate in the US, as ex-pat now living in the US.

They do have their place, I'm considering buying a LCD/Plasma TV and I most definitely want to see it before I buy it, can't easily do that with Amazon, of course, you could go and view them at Best Buy and then buy online from the best deal around...which I do a lot of.
