MysteriousCheck

Your previous article referred to MysteriousCheck() as being the suspect function but you updated that to VerifierCodeCheckFlagOn() without mentioning it in the update text. Why is that? It makes it look like you're trying to hide something, but more so is confusing to anyone who read the original article.

BT Dialup gaming service

Being a Suffolk lad, was lucky enough to do work experience there. It was about 15 years ago, and around the time BT used to do a dialup gaming service that we got to play with as testers for a day (out of two weeks, mind). Can't for the life of me remember what it was called though. Seem to remember the software was very blue and yellow. The canteen there is still the best I've ever eaten in, funny what you remember.

Do not buy *a* drive

"get a solid-state drive for your system instead"

For the love of god buy two and raid mirror them, because they will fail at some point (or more specifically, before a hard drive generally would). They're essentially consumables.

They printed something that can hold 20-bits of read only data? Well I can print something that'll store more than that with my inkjet, it's called a barcode. Still a long way to go, I think.

That should either be countries' (unlikely), country's or [sic] depending on whether it's a written quote or transcribed.

Re: Ermm

"No, the Graun kopped a strop when WL gave the cables to other media publishers"

Given that from the point of view of the Graun they're foreign papers, why would they care? They've still got the UK exclusive, and I don't think it's likely people in the UK will queue up to buy the NYT or DSp.

Function over form

Think I can live with it being a little bit thicker and heavier if I can actually move files on and off it easily. Function over form for me (and even then, it's still thinner and lighter than my laptop, and it's not all that ugly).

That would have been an interesting story. Unfortunately what you gave us was:

They should applaud him

Kid decides instead of doing all the usual anti-social things teenagers get blamed for he makes, polished, popular videos and shares them with the world. The school should be applauding him, not punishing him. I hope they get sued. The fact that it's not to their taste is irrelevant (hint: it wasn't made for them, or given to them, or associated with them)

And AFAIK schools in the UK aren't legally in loco parentis, they are considered responsible for them, which actually makes things harder (i.e., in the event an accident it is there legal duty to ensure they have a way to contact the parents or those actually in loco parentis to make decisions)
