BlackBerry CEO: iPhone past its prime

g7rp0
Meh

Has tthe I-device lost its way?

I consider myself neither a fanboi or an apple hater, I have a droid fone for work and an iphone5 for my personal phone and an Ipad for browsing when I cant be arsed to turn on the laptop or PC.

I also have a nexus 7 which is an excellent piece of kit and I think if the nexus 4 had been available (as in not sold out) when I got the iphone I may well have made a different choice.

I am starting to beleive that apple is on the verge of doing what it did before pre Job's return to the company.....I dont think Cook has in insight that Job's did and love him or hate him he had the ability to know what the majority of people wanted, Cook doesnt seem to have that.

Personally after spending a lot of my early IT career installing and troubleshooting the earliest incarnations of BES I have a dislike of it but I think the guy has a point, Iphone could well have lost their way

Untrustworthy Bastards

Lets face it EA are shit, they have been shit for a long time and since the inception of their 'must be online to play' piss poor attempt to DRM games they have got worse.

I remember the days of the sims and the original sim citys, these were excellent games (for the most part) and it didnt matter to players who made them cos once they had bought the game that was pretty much where the involvment with the publishers ended with the possible exception of patches

Wasnt one of their early attempts to use this crap DRM a game like spawn or possiblly spore? I had a few friends that bought this game and then used 3rd party cracks to open up the game.

Will never buy from EA again and I would advise everyone to follow suit

Java malware spotted using stolen certificate

FAIL

Just dont user it

I have a Windows XP vm for when I actually need to use java, the rest of the time I use a machine that doesnt even have a whisper of Java on it, even having it installed is asking for trouble tbh

Facebook starts going encrypted by default in North America

FAIL

It will still be untrustworthy

But in an encrypted kinda way

@AC 15:48

So cos you consider that someone who doesnt have the knowledge to resolve this issue an acceptable target for the idiot tax, does this mean that you would expect it from other people you engage to do work of whatever kind?

Angel

Cant hear anything out of mine

but there again there are 5 fans running on my desk, (3 in the firewall and 2 in the switch) not to mention the 5 in my PC so if its there its drowned out by the other noisy stuff

Apple Passbook card-'n'-ticket app paves way for iOS e-wallet

Stop

So I'm assuming hat

People would be happy with apple or others not only being able to track our movements to a certain degree as they can now but down to what trains we get on and what shops we pass or enter

Fuck that! they don't even have a cc attached to my iTunes account I had to create for my wife's iPhone, don't trust them period

Diablo III

Thumb Up

Amazing game

Shame they completely fucked up the lauch, many many posts complaining about the error 37 and 75 problems, Saying that once in and playing the game is awesome, sooo much fun.

£50 is over the top, I paid 40 for it at Game and I was told by a friend he paid 35 from Tescos I think so if you wanna buy it then have a look around.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

FAIL

Bought it, played it cancelled

Server downtime and queues were my main problem, that and the fact that a collection of friends and I created a guild in the official way and then they put us on a french server!!!

If you are happy with waiting 30mins+ for the majority of servers, more for others, unexplained errors that kick you out of the game so you have to queue again amd the woeful support (5 tickets to get a digital download key working) one reply asked me to scan the CD case and key cert!! then enjoy.

personally Ill stick to non MMOs for the moment

Murdoch muscles BBC out of Formula One driving seat

g7rp0

Can I assume

That we are going to see cuts in the uttter shit that is that dancing travesty that is hosted by Forsythe (Who incidentally should have been pensioned off a long time ago).

Sky now has pretty much every sport worth watching, cut some salaries from people like forsythe, moyles et al and we we might get some decent programming again.

I would like to know what races the BBC will still have, they have said British and Monoco iirc, but whats the odds on the rest are the ones on at silly o clock on the morning UK time?

Played since beta

Love the game, was truly gutted when the death was announced.

Would love to see it continue but I think its a vain hope

Comet in bad way after big losses

g7rp0

Good

Their service is crap, I would much rather buy from DSG than Comet, 6 time they came out to repair my 3 month old TV, one of the faults was that there was no sound for 30 secs after you turrned the tv on, unless a volume button was pressed on the TV itself.

Repair guy's explanation....... it was the fault of my sky box AND my bllue ray player, strangely the fault on both these devices didnt exist on the replacement I finally got.

Truly terrrible

Android Marketplace starts cleaning house

g7rp0

Never thought I would say this but

Its about time Google started cleaning up a little, sure there are lots of apps but Im always worried about getting them, with the stories of apps being malware which will do various things its about time they became a little more apple-esqe.

Apps shouldnt be put on there without checks and should be pulled if they turn out to be wrong-uns.

I love my droid phone and switched from the Iphone to it but I was happier buying from apple than google tbh just cos of the restrictions put in place by apple

sooo easy

There are a multitude of ways to remain annonymous, this is a complete waste of time.

@tomjol yeah I agree with you but you have to question the intelligence of a professional football player doing the following.

having am affair with a big brother wannabe who I seem to remember has already done the same with another footballer/

And trying to cover it up when all the papers knew about it, surely he must have realised that the game was up.

I think the whole thing has gotten silly but thats partly his fault, the whole thing should have been between his wife and him but in our pathetically celeb obsessed society it was never likely to be
