Not sure Su would help that much - much of Intel's problems come from the foundry, which is not something AMD has had to worry about in a long, long time.

It's worth noting that while Overstreet may be good as a filesystem developer, he's not particularly great as a kernel-dev. He's been remonstrated multiple times for sending pull requests for code which he's either not tested adequately or not tested at all. When offered advice on how he could improve his testing, he's complained that no-one else can understand the tests he needs to do (but apparently isn't doing) and therefore no-one else can help him set up test harnesses. I suspect this is part of the reason why other parts of the kernel don't want much to do with him; they don't particularly trust his code, and don't want it in their subsystems. The fact that he's kind-of a jerk isn't helping him; aside from the current situation, apologising for problems that he created (like breaking big-endian kernels - more than once, as I understand it) would go a long way to resolving the situation.
