WDTV Live! iPlayer?...

As far as I know the WDTV Live! does NOT support iPlayer. It is a glaring omission in their line-up and a source of frustration to me (I own 2 of the devices).

It's a great box otherwise but this missing feature is such a pain that I am considering buying a different streamer since I can't get decent Freeview where I am but the broadband is good.

The WD forums are full of people screaming for iPlayer support but as of yet they're being ignored.

why?

In the article it explains that he rented the mansion as his previous convictions prevented him from buying it. Why is that funny?

Lazy cliched comments

Disappointing to see all these posts assuming this is a case of legal world cronyism. I would say it's far more likely that this is some aggressive guy who didn't get the outcome he wanted from a court case, quite possibly because his position had no merit.

When he was frustrated by the courts he decides to mount a vigilante campaign against lawyers... easy prey. For every court case there's usually at least one person who ends up holding a grudge. Nobody wants to admit that they're the ones at fault, so much easier to blame it on the police/solicitor/barrister/judge *anybody* else.

I had hoped that readers of The Register would be above such tired cliches as solicitors=bad & legal world=old boys network.

Grow up.

If it was your friend...

...wouldn't you want to warn them about someone in the bushes ready to shoot them?

And yes, we'd all try and talk them out of it just like these people did.

But think about it, what their friend actually did by 'obstructing justice' was to try to avoid someone they knew being shot. And once the police couldn't easily finish it by lethal force the crisis was negotiatied to a bloodless conclusion.

Getting old

For decades I have been convinced Neuromancer would make an amazing movie but properly reconsidering it now I've just realised how dated it is. Bye bye another part of my youth...
