Dying to make time lapse videos? No? Well, Microsoft is doing it anyway!

Missing the point

This article completely misses the point of Hyperlapse. It shows some novel and very complex motion stabilization techniques. Saying that apps like this have been around for years shows only that you don't understand what this app is.

I've recently started to notice how common this is amongst non-rhotics. I can't work out whether they really think drawer and draw are the same word (due to the fact they can't/don't pronounce the 'er') or they just don't know how to spell it.

Advice for Google's Android marketing department...

You need to devolop a strategy focussed on attracting customers in the MMTS category - 'More Money Than Sense'. A proven strategy here is advertising that focusses on form over function. People dancing and having fun with a pretty looking phone - good. People getting full access to the phone they paid for - bad. Heroes using them in big buget movies - good. Experts using them in at IT department - bad.

MMTS are the most profitable demographic and one of which Apple have expertly taken full ownership. If only Bose sold an Ipod dock. They do? Where do I type in my credit card number?

Re: RGB v CMY

I think the picture explains this one. Their system uses subtractive colour mixing (CMY) because there's a reflector at the back, so the reflected light is being filtered by the active layers (presumably in both directions). Other systems use additive colour mixing (RGB) because it's the active layers that are doing the reflecting - the background is dark. I can only assume that others have found it easier to reflect light rather than filter it up until now.

WTF?

To Robert and other Metric inch-lovers

I think we should ban people who hate decimals from using them to express their ancient measurements. 7.625 inches? Nope, banned. You must stand by your principals and use 7⅝ inches. I hope for your sake you're not a software developer. Or maybe you could just bring yourself forward to the 19th century and go with 19.3675cm.

The point abut foreign measurements is also irrational. Unless you're Roman or French then you have no rational choice but to use a foreign system.
