Apple's iPad Pro on a stick, um, we mean M1 iMac scores 2 out of 10 for repairability

making sure you upgrade even earlier

not only are Apple notorious for making you buy into their product, now they've gone a step further buy using the ssd for ram swapping, how long you reckon you'll REALLY get out of it? heavy users a year? normal users 2 years? I really like the m1 but Apple have gone too far on this one, you're going to see a lot of class action lawsuits on this one, a soldered cpu (normal for apple), soldered ram (normal for apple), soldered ssd (normal for apple), the new encryption and the constant writing to the ssd as ram is not normal, gl getting your data when the ssd dies, not only do apple want non replaceable parts, they now want whole machines to only last 1 to 2 years before you are forced to upgrade. If you buy an Apple device now you deserve what happens.....

Twist my Arm why don't you: Brit CPU behemoth latest biz to cease work with Huawei – report

This isn't just Trump policies, this has been going on for years, even through Obama's reign, just a war on China in different ways, theres a good Pilger documentary from a few years back about the war with China, very interesting.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IC_HEl4iwlA

Credit insurance tightens for geek shack Maplin Electronics

Much as I hate Maplin, you do realise they price match for the same items right? Have any of you people ever actually asked? If you are desperate and need something that day, it can be a bit of a life saver and show them the price at any other retailer and they match it......

Cryptowall 4.0: Update makes world's worst ransomware worse still

Thank god for Datto! Expensive but worth every penny! We got hit with Cryptowall 3 and were back up and running in minutes....

Microsoft caves on Xbox One DRM and used-game controls

Until a firmware update

I dont trust them whatsoever, a simple firmware update can reverse this yet again, the fact they said they were doing this in the first place is enough to make anyone question their intentions. Don't buy it!

Bitcoin prices spike on Euro woes

Nothing to do with the euro

Been spiking for over a year....

Fifa 13 game review

Lack of comment about all the crashing thats going on in career mode, they've had to issue hotfixes (both for the xbox and the ps3 version) which has aleviated some gamers issues (mine included touch wood). A lot of people still having crashing consoles though!

South Korea bans Apple's AND Samsung's ageing phones, tabs

Ubisoft: 'Vast majority of PC gamers are PIRATES'

Thumb Up

Crap titles

I'm fed up buying games at full price which end up being played for an hour or so and then shelved. Many of the latest mmorpgs have been assigned to the wastebin after a month of play. I welcome free to play, I honestly do, it will give the developers and publishers a kick up the rectum to provide decent games because you wont be paying for it if it's crap, and if it's worth playing then you pay........

Malicious apps infiltrate Google's Android Market

I agree with borkbork, instead of a one size fits all attitude to permissions that we have now, allow individual permissions instead of a yeah or neigh way we have now which means you can either install or not install regardless if you only disagree with a single permission.

There are apps and games from legitimate sources that I sometimes think why the hell are they really needing permissions for this and have to agree if I want to use it even if it is only 1 of 5 permissions I dont agree with.

It does need a revamp for more control from the user.

OnLive pushes game stream service to UK punters

Just tried it

Thought what the hell, for £1 might as well give it a go. Suffice to say, its quite laggy on virgin, that could be virgin though, but I am trying it late at night to check it out. Playing deus ex human revolution, and its pretty crap when trying to shoot people :)

Jury's out....But for £1 cant complain :)

PS3 hacker Hotz accepts job at Facebook

bit of misreporting going on here surely? he wasnt the first to hack the ps3, didnt he use the existing usb hack which was developed by psjailbreak and merely released the hex code from the said hack?

Not saying the guy isnt talented but lets get the reporting correct...

Rumbled benefits cheats offer sensational excuses

does it get more blatant folks? do we need more hints? the rich steal it all, the bankers crashed the lot and got bailed out, how many billions were we fleeced? £850 billion......this is just the most common example there are thousands more examples of crap like this.

so lets get all the people who lost money, houses, jobs etc and blame the BENEFIT CHEATS as they are a lower class than the workers, someone for them to blame, better than them blaming the real crooks.......

Android app sales skimpy, sluggish, slack, scanty...

£1.50 charge

is whats putting people off, theres no universal payment it is localised so you end up paying £1.50 to your bank on top of te 59p or so for the app, in effect costing you 3 times extra. its a terrible system this is what most of us moan about, I have bought a couple of essential apps but had to pay £1.50 to my bank each time, so now I no longer buy and thats what put me off (like a lot of people!)

change this they may get more sales coming in..

Virgin Media Superhub customers still hitting big speed bump

Has royally screwed it right up!!!! I was coping ok, no stable wireless on the old firmware but the speeds were fine wired, now:

50-75% packet loss

downloads stop half way through (if you get that far!)

youtube stops buffering

streaming audio stops after 5 seconds in media player or winamp

speedtest reveals 2mbit on a 50mbit connection but stops half way through

its a total joke!!
