I am fed up of hearing people compare the 787 to the A380 - different aircraft for different markets, why cannot the media in general not grasp this? Not knocking EI Reg by the way here.
Of course point to point is the future, its a big no brainer. One of the reasons LCC make such a fortune and are largely very successful is they allow people to travel direct, using smaller aircraft, more frequently.
The A380 is suited to a hand full of very high density routes only, as mentioned in the article, London - NYC for example.
The Ribbon isn't THAT bad, lets be fair, once you get used to it. We are just so used to menus it makes it a little bit difficult to adapt.
I still struggle to find things in Office Ribbon despite having used Office 2007 + since release but I am not sure I would go back to the old menu system.
While I would love to fully agree with you about the URL, how many times do you see things advertised on the TV or in the media some place as domain.com/product ?
Some things after the actual domain do need to be humanly readable, but mostly, yes I do agree with you.
Granted this is all going to becoming less relevant with this current fad of putting "Search for XYZ online" in ads these days.
It is a little bit crazy in some ways is this law. Not all cookies are malicious.
Granted some are bad and are used for profiling your web browsing habits etc etc, but then, just about every website you log in to uses cookies to establish a session. If you refuse to accept cookies, how the fuck will you establish a session in the stateless web?
Perhaps the law needs a little refining so it only applies to advertisers etc and not people needing to use cookies as an integral part of their web apps.
And just to add as good advice as ever - we should all be using secure cookies!
I agree, we need comments - comments are what makes the articles what they are.
Shame, nice app otherwise. Please add comments so I have no reason to use the mobile site.
Could someone fix the annoying issue with video's embedded in articles on the mobile site too - this causes the Jesus phone to break the page - or at least it does for me.
The one thing that fucks me off most about forums and their communities is the + fucking 1 replies.
Just what I want to see now when viewing web pages, along with all the Facebook, Twitter, Buzz, Digg, Slash dot buttons etc is a fucking +1 button.
It is unnecessary. Seriously, fuck off with this +1 nonsense.
(Awaiting some smart arse to +1 my post!)
