If you have a Wi-Fi network and an amplifier with Toslink or HDMI input, it seems to me that the Apple TV is a far superior solution, and quite a bit cheaper too (currently £92 from El Reg's preferred online retailer). Once the network settings are configured, the Apple TV can be used as a "headless" AirPlay receiver, if desired.

Yes, the Westone 4 sounds fantastic. However, I completely disagree with the statement about the cable being "crappy". On the contrary, it is probably the best cable on the market. Thin, light and flexible, but at the same time very sturdy.

Actually, the buttons can be different sizes (as can clearly be seen from the pictures) and the layouts are completely customisable. Also, the iOS app supports multi-touch gestures.
