There is something missing in this story.
It sounded to me like this says the system is writing some of its' own code.In my experience with writing code, it has to be tested. How is this performed without human intervention. How does it know that the code is successfully finding cats or shredders?
Are they saying that the systems first presentation of the algorithm to find shredders was successful? If that is actually correct there is a very real reason for concern. As I think more about this I am wondering what the system is being asked to do, and what parameters it is being given to do it.
It does not seem too unlikely that some sort of situational awareness will be designed into Glass After all the whole purpose of "enhanced reality" is based on knowing where you are. So when the Glasses realize they are in a car, and moving, the allowable displays would be restricted.
I actually find this a rather interesting idea. Imagine direction arrows displayed as if they are on the road, sort of like the lines that are overlaid on US football shows
