Putting phones and operating systems aside, I DON'T WANT Google having this amount of knowledge about my activities, movement patterns, buying habits etc.

We've seen how employers are increasingly turning to Facebook etc. and I've reacted by simply not using these services to the degree that I once did. Google is no different. I don't allow any emails to pass through my gmail account now apart from spam. Nothing important.

Google Now and Google Drive so they can stalk me and data mine sensitive documents? I don't think so. I WILL BE IN CONTROL OF MY OWN POSSESSIONS THANK YOU.

They've already tried this, twice that I know about, and there is just no way of guaranteeing that any extra contract pay will end up where intended, or at least after the inspectors have audited payroll.

The new Apple Maps App itself is actually very good - better than anything I've seen elsewhere. It's the dataset that let's it down and I've noticed that it is slowly being fixed, even in my local area some of the submissions I have made have been implemented.

None of these mapping datasets are perfect. Google's data is the best but then they've had the luxury of wardriving everybody's streets for the last five years slurping up every bit of private Wi-Fi data they can, so it bloody-well ought to be comprehensive.

If it can be proven (and this would be a systematic situation) that the software will record erroneous values then this could only ever be permissible as evidence, not proof, and therefore not of a great deal of use for legal purposes.

I think the goalposts as to why this data logging is a bad thing are moving and this far nothing has really stuck for any particularly compelling reason.

Let's not forget that the background logging of which antennae is seeing your IMEI number at any particular time is far more damning as this would be surely more provable since it's an impartial 3rd party (the telco) that logs the info and law enforcement already has access to this data.
