My company mobile/blackberry is on Orange and the network is deeply useless - in terms of both coverage and the late voicemail notifications you referred to.

I have used all of the other networks at one time or another and, while they may not be excellent, they are all less sh*t than Orange.

Battteries (again)

Battery life on smartphones is ridiculous. I have a (lowly) Wildfire, and am staggered at what it can do, but the idea that less-than-a-day of heavy(ish) use is acceptable is just stupid. I'd rather it was 2mm thicker and had a battery twice the size.

On a related note, can anyone put to rest for me the question of whether killing applications with task managers actually has an impact (as comments seem to be evenly split)?

Only an observation: I use Skype all the time, but almost never use the video facility. I generally know the people I'm talking to, and don't need a blurry image of them talking to a camera.
