I do with my respin, yes I don't have 350 Million users, I have a few thousand at best, 99% of my stuff "just works" for them, but I miss the occasional oops and I endeavour to fix as soon as I can, regardless if the bug affects one person or a lot. Oh and yet I don't have the turnover of some small countries. MS laying off their testers is the single biggest fuckup they made. If only they would look back to days when within reason (it's always been bad but ffs not this bad) that XP in the end was not bad, vista has a bad reputation for being dog slow, it was but at least the fooker ran, 7 was a major improvement on Vista although it was a paid for service pack, then after that all shit broke loose. We had "Modern" of 8 and 8.1 (largest fucking start menu ever) and now the spy ridden 10 and it's nice show stopping updates. It's a shame really. We need a Microsoft, if only to show other developers what not to do.

I'm sitting here on my Linux box reading all the bitching about forced upgrades and so on laughing, then I suddenly stopped and thought for a second. In business as we know time is money, I earn regardless, anyway how much time are you using to play whack-a-mole, seriously, how much time and expense has it caused companies so far, expecially those small outfits where it's not worth having a domain for the secretary? someone said about updates, I can tell you this as fact, on an i5 Haswell, 1gig net link, ssd it took from a fresh windows 7 install 2 1/2 hours... I thought about that and thought okay so he updated to 10 as well, nope, that's just updates to where 10 could be installed, so I installed PCLinuxOS from 2014, December to be exact, 1000+ packages to update.. gulp, how many? clicked apply... apply 10 mins all done, installed kernel update, reboot, works, 10 minutes on my machine (i5, 90MB/s net ssd)
For all that MIcrosoft has done and continue to do to it's customers, why do people defend it, seriously if it was anyone else they'd be murder I tell ya :)
I often will summarily end such discussions amongst the "blindozed" when they suggest turning off, disabling this and that in their unholy holey OS etc - "Say you found out that your rental home was rampant with spy cameras, hidden microphones and one-way mirrors, you are comfortable to continue living there... covering each subsequently discovered peep hole with roll after roll of masking tape?

I remember when Comet died, I was looking for a USB pen drive, I went in to a soon to be closed Comet in High Wycombe and the price then was £25 for a 32 GB Sandisk. I walked to PCWorld (Part of the Dixons group) and picked the exact same Sandisk USB drive for £19, this was in 2012. I've never missed Comet, to be honest I wouldn't miss Dixon group either

There is Trinity which is an updated KDE3 that is still being maintained and can be used on many distros; I use it on PCLinuxOS and made my own remaster that I publish monthly (I know I'm kind of advertising here) however it is light and fast on my systems (single core atom through to a i5)

systemd on Monday
Even though the distro I use doesn't use systemd the main DE it uses is moving to have a systemd dependency in around 5 months, as we as a distro are trying to avoid systemd like the plague, and we can't use gnome for the same reason, it seems we'll use any DE/WM that doesn't need it as a dependency.
The distro: PClinuxOS, the DM, KDE.

Jag might be Indian owned, but it's made in Britain, using British designers, engineers, testers. next time there is an Aston Martin review are you going to complain about it being once owned by an American company, or hey how about buying a Nissan, made in UK but Japanese owned... any how you're an idiot.
I remember in 1995 that slackware came on BOOT and ROOT floppies that did the whole desktop, using FVMW windows look-a-like Window Manager, and that Win95 was a 30 Floppy affair with far less functionality than the 2 floppy of slack, same today too in that on a dvd you can get a shed load on linux, and a bare shell of an OS on windows, is how it is.
