I remember reading once that a lot of East to West and vice versa data on Bell's network actually goes via Chicago. Not sure if this applies to their MPLS customers though.

I think the only benefits here are to Canadian residents - ie. companies that are required to keep data within Canada such as health data (even though it may be deidentified). This was the whole point of Microsoft opening their two data centers north of the border.

Any news on the update manager? It was rumored that it was going to be baked into the appliance. That's really the only reason I have vCenter still on Windows, no point in having a machine for the update manager and an appliance for vCenter.

I read this and thought 'How much more can we be ripped off for cellular service?' Fortunately it looks like a bad copy/paste job on the iPad 2 web page - Rogers have confirmed that it will be unlocked in Canada.

As an expat living in Ottawa I cannot agree more and with UBB coming soon it seems like we may even be going backwards!
