Grok and Meta AI are absent from Europe. X and Meta are worried about getting sued by the EU.

Not good for the next technical revolution.

Microsoft says .NET Framework porting project is finished: If your API's not on the list, it's not getting in

Re: No WinForms?

Which is a pity, as WinForms allowed you to slap together desktop apps in no time at all.

When you do in-house support for a company, you often need to write little noddy apps to perform some function for your co-workers.

Microsoft .NET Core update asks developers: How you doin'?

Re: Cross platform

I built a communications platform on C#/Mono/Linux, and it's been running 7+ years by a couple of companies that are household names in the UK.

I also wrote a C#/Mono app, that ran on an Android embedded hardware device, that shipped across the globe.

And right now, one of the biggest global courier companies, is evaluating a C# Android (Xamarin) app I put together, with C# Linux backend.

For years, people told me I was mad to use C# over Java, as Microsoft were going to sue me or my customers.

So, yeah, very comfortable. Thanks MS. Up yours Oracle.

Bitcoin value plunges as Mt.Gox halts withdrawals and Russia says 'nyet'

Russia haven't banned Bitcoins They just disapprove of it. No government will be happy about Bitcoins, because as a currency it cant be manipulated. And when they see what the future holds for this technology, they will get very nervous indeed. Cryptocurrencies are here to stay. The genie is out of the bottle.

WTF is... up with e-book pricing?

VAT Invoice

I bought an e-book on programming from Amazon, and required the invoice for claiming back on business expenses. Amazon will not supply me with a VAT invoice, which according to HM Revenue & Customs is illegal.
