You are thinking of IPv4 addresses, there 281,474,976,710,656 MAC addresses, so a random match is far less likely - assuming the manufacturer has used unique values, which isn't always the case.

What a bitter and blinkered view. People don't go in to politics to pose as being better, they do it to try to change things for the better, instead of the far easier option of sitting back and just bleating about it.
I bought a cheap Chinese camera, in the full knowledge that their remote server would have more holes than Swiss cheese. But I've got a good router with a firewall that allows me to block every UDP and TCP port that the camera tries to open. The only way the camera can be accessed is on the local network or via an encrypted VPN.
Only trouble is the cheap crap broke within 6 months, so its back to the audio only DECT based monitor.
It's not like the idots at ISPs even know how to look up their own logs. About a decade ago a friend of mine in New Zealand was accused of hacking a major corporation, they claiming to proof the IP address of the attacker was assigned to her at the time. Turns they ISP muppet converted the time they were given to GMT-11 instead of GMT+11 and pulled the wrong address, causing months of hassle and legal threats.
These aren't victims, they were the Venus fly traps of the web, sucking in search users with seemingly relevant links, but getting them stuck in endless pages of rotting junk. People quite rightly demanded that search engines treated such predatory undergrowth with a damn good dose of weed killer.
I only put a lock pattern on when my son turned one and started to dial numbers every time he picked up the phone. However, he found out how to dial emergency contacts without unlocking before I did. Now he's two he can copy the patterns with ease.
Flash - uninstall it.
Advertising - block it.
Website not making any money - tough they only have themselves to blame for allowing unvetted third party content.
Telstra is supposed to be a telecoms company, so how about just providing telecoms related content on their website, and not trying to make an extra few AU$ through irrelevant and unwanted advertising.

No, the exploits will try their luck on any versions of Windows, because look at the most of recent patches which are marked all version of Windows from Vista (last currently support OS) and above,
and if its in Vista you can be pretty sure its in XP too,
and if its in XP you can be pretty sure its in W2K too,
and if its in W2K you can be pretty sure its in NT4 too.

No hardened cockpit doors work extremely well - keeping everyone out, while a mentally unstable pilot flies in to a mountain.

I was given an old 1st gen i7 laptop, being a HP it sounds like a jet taking off within 30 seconds, and has to be throttled down to 90% CPU or it will cook itself and die inside of 5 minutes.
I rooted my Galaxy S5 just so backup software could access the SD card, but that has saved me from the Lollipop 5.0 update which has blighted my wife's Note 3. So do unroot it and hope the security patch is delivered rather than an uwanted upgrade, or I do risk waiting god knows how long until O2 has made Lollipop 5.1 available?

Did you not read the article? It clearly says the memory is bit addressable, so supports random access.

DLO, it's much worse than that. There are thousands of bits of debris in intersecting orbits with inclinations ranging from equatorial to polar, and even some retrograde. There is also the issue intersections from debris in highly elliptical orbits such as booster stages.
Basically the ISS could be hit from any direction, front/back/left/right/up/down, so there isn't really a safe place to put the Soyuz, but luckily it is built like and old tank compared to the rest of the station.
Looking at a random selection of removed links to BBC stories, there looks to be some pretty serious criminals trying to whitewash their reputation.
Well to get the Pu238 for any more RTGs, things will have to get tense enough with Mr Putin in order for the US to restart it's nuclear weapon breeder reactors. Although I suspect the UK might enough in used fuel rods waiting at Sellafield for reprocessing, to kit out a mission or two.
Hopefully the app wont do things like route cyclists the wrong way down a one way street. But I'd also add some audio reminders that stopping at red lights and pedestrian crossings also applies to cyclists too.
Working in Cambridge you take your life in to your hands crossing the road, and not because of the motorised traffic. Even walking along the pavement is difficult enough with bikes chained 3 deep to every bit of street furniture and railings.
