Lords debate airline liquids ban

When does something get classified as a liquid?

Last Christmas I had the pleasure of staying here in Sweden while my collegues headed back to Blighty for the festive season. In order to make it a little more like home I asked one of the guys to bring me back some Tesco Christmas pudding. Unfortunately, according to the security in Belgium (where he had a stay over) Christmas pudding contains liquid so they had to confiscate it.

I just know the bastards ate it and the Swedes haven't a fucking clue about proper pudding.

Another investigation into Pirate Bay child porn

@Bob Jones

Seeing as pretty much everything on Pirate Bay is illegal in some way or another I don't think that's much of an argument. Pirate Bay maintain that they are a search engine not a content provider and as such cannot provide censorship - there's plenty of questionable material to be found via Google too don't forget.

Book publisher steals Google laptops

Got it wrong

Google is not going to allow these copyrighted works to be downloadable.

Google is creating an index for seaching. If one of you whingeing writers has written a book about Dolphins then a reference to your book information and a small sample will be displayed when someone uses that search criteria.

This will allow that person to be able to find the book they want to buy/borrow.

The big problem that publishers have with this is they are getting no financial remuneration for the scanning/indexing that Google is doing. They think Google will make pots of money from this worthy endevour and they want a piece of the action.

It goes without saying that the hardworking and mostly underpaid authors will not profit from this even if the publishers were able to extract some kind of payback.
