Get the results you expect?

When the top guy answers a question like "Do you want to drink pee?" with a none science (or should I say nonsense) answer like this, does he read his own data on water purity?

Bureau administrator, David Shaff should have also replied, "I didn't get my coffee this morning, It was a full moon last night and all that science I am supposed to use in my job is hog-wash.".

The public will eat the bill, but this guy aught to know better.

Good science helps the public, bad or illogical answer create FUD.

Perhaps Poseidon will bring cause great harm to "young man who relieved himself".

Can you say SCO

This is the same attitude that SCO had.

Drag them into court until they give up money.

We really don't deserve it, but what the heck, anythings worth a shot. Besides, the bigger the gamble, the bigger the payoff.

A thought process usually brought on by arrogant management backed by arrogant "legal mind" yes persons.

Eventually, someone at the top of LoadedSys is going to run out of backers and be recognized for what they are.

Anyway, who is the money at LodSys.

Lawyers will aggregate around this, specialize in it, and drag it to the Supreme Court. It's a bag of money on either side, that is "a process of litigation to resolve issues".

Life expectancy of LodSys, same as SCO when they started doing it.

But is it reliable

I recently spent some time to buy a new internal drive.

The thing I couldn't help but notice were the number of RMA's associated with drives over 500gig.

Then I started to about how many of these drives are showing up in "wonderful" external backup systems.

The tech part is always interesting, but it's not everything.

Physical Presence Requirement Addressability

Are you who you say you are?

Devices that contain direct addressing confirmation that are literally a USB computer.

The device must be aligned with you at a physical location that is alignment matching service, where you are matched to your device.

Similar in process to getting a automobile license or taking a loan from a bank, you must prove who you are.

You wish to complete a transaction.

A request for your 'key' is made.

The device, when connected, asks for a password from you to proceed.

Enter password.

It then, will only communicate with pre-allocated address spaces for confirmation of continuance.

These address spaces are authorized business or governmental bodies that are heavily restricted and independent of influence. It's their only business and they may not be in any other business.

The physical device will use packet scrambling to the pre-allocated address.

The address space sends a packet identical to a packet from your device.

They match and the completion of transaction occurs.

Hence, you must exist, the device must exist, the physical location of the addressing confirmation must exist. The final point of transaction is assumed to exist.

While not perfect, it does remove most of the conveniences of how your identity is stolen and makes each possible point of compromise available for inquiry.

If the device is lost or stolen, it is reported.

Sidebar: Credit/Debit companies remove them selves from the security loop and pay fee for independent body.

One would think they would love this because always so worried about saving us money.

Obama to overhaul heinous US patent system

Adding more patents won't help..

The shear number of patents not being used terrible.

People get patents, businesses fail and it just sits there.

What is needed is an extension for a aggregation of existing patents.

If a business actually uses several patents not being used and actually pays.

They get an extension.

The patent holders work understanding that they may get less, but they will get some, not none, and for longer.

The current patent system is a mess with possible law suits just waiting to happen.

No one person has enough knowledge to cross reference the data that really reduces patent conflict.

It's time to use Watson/Google before proceeding with application completion.

That dog don't hunt

"That's fine for developers, but it's less useful for consumers. They're finding apps in the various app stores, or they're hearing about them from friends, media and other sources. They're unlikely to jump through many hoops to get their apps, however, and this is perhaps the most pernicious effect mobile app stores will have on open source."

No disrespect Matt but

Is jumping through hoops giving a friend a URL?

Gee whiz, how do some people ever get to a bathroom?

Anybody seen the "ten open source" lists showing up from almost any reputable software web/mag source for every device that uses it?

Alas, nobody gets away from advertising dollars and product placement.

It's one of those things where, if somebody could, would almost make you believe there was only one operating system in existence.

When traveling abroad.

This situation is analogous to some who lives in a secure country.

They decide to travel somewhere unknown.

They visit a place during the day that is beautiful and pleasant.

That night they return only to find, after dark, it not a good place to be.

Exploration outside a secure environment will never be absolutely safe.

As as it turns out to be, even in a perceived secure environment, IE Windows, stuff happens.

Google should just write the code that watches a "clean room/honeypot" phone with each program before it is accepted for each application.

Not a fun job, but worth their time.

Slice of the pie

"What the Deepwater Horizon incident has taught us is that releases of methane with similar characteristics will not have the capacity to influence climate," Kessler said.

Spoken like someone who only sees anything above the horizon as climate and totally disregards any changes in the oceans might have on climate.

Did he say more, or is this selective science or just not thinking clearly before speaking?

Windows done right

A multi-processor machine with all inclusive chips, each running its own program/window, now that's a laptop.

Done with a program, window closes, chip stops using energy.

Accept for storage access, theoretically, nothing should be slower than the minimum value of the processor use.

Please note, I am not proposing that a processor can't run more than one program, only that, functional dependency should be the rule.

An answer to one's self

The same money that made this letter complains about is the same money that brought about the a the knowledge to make the complaint.

It's the science that's important. The more we know about our world, the better.

What we do with it is always up to debate.

An answer to one's self

It should be noted that the same money that is spoken about is the same money that allows the knowledge gained to make this letter possible.

It's the science that's important.

How much more we know about our world is a good thing.

How we use it is always up to debate.
