Is iOS 9.3 Apple's worst ever update? First it bricks iThings, now Safari is busted

What about us devs?!

It's all gone down the pan. We have to re-deploy apps now iOS9.3 is out but we can't. We have to upgrade Xcode to 7.3 (which is reporting build issues) but that wont work on anything but El Capitan, the latest OS that is super buggy and being avoided by our company. So I can't compile to a buggy iOS version with my buggy Xcode version because I need to upgrade to a whole new buggy OS! What the hell is going on in Cupertino??

Is this the sleek new BlackBerry mobe that will save RIM jobs?

Do you like keys? You'll love these...

A new BB10 handset with a proper keyboard is on the way and may or may not be here before June...according to this anyway:

Looks pretty decent too...in my opinion obviously!

Re: What's the browser like?

The browser is actually really good. Fast and responsive from a users point of view but as a fellow web developer, I've had no issues at all with it.

It manages to render old sites really well but for all the HTML5/CSS3/JQuery (and other scripting libs) sites I've done, there have been no problems at all. All sites I now do are built with responsive design very much in mind and again, no problems here!

Google Nexus 7 Android tablet

WTF?

Re: 3G

Well, I'm amazed you've had a down-vote for basically expressing your opinion. You obviously have a setup that works for you but obviously someone doesn't like it that you have!

I am personally in the tethering to smartphone camp, but that's just me. I think these look brilliant.

Different strokes for different folks and all that...

Re: You know that all looks okay to me

Me too. If a 32gb model was in the list, I'd almost be looking for a pre-order button.

Although I would love to see a 10 inch version of this too, I would like to say that a lot of people (me included) like the 7 inch form. I take mine to work and use it to and from work, read pdf's in bed with it etc.. My sister has the 10 inch one that she loves but it doesn't leave her house. She's happy and I'm happy.

All I'm saying is there is a very good reason for making 7 inch tablets: because lots of us like them. I'd love Google to produce a 10 inch one to keep everyone happy though.

Facebook needs Opera - to rescue it from dependence on Apple

Re: Fastmail

Oddly, that was my first thought too. I've used FastMail for years and was quite happy when Opera bought it. When I heard this news, I too was concerned. As it has been correctly stated already though, it is still in the rumour jungle so no need to do anything just yet.

Having said that, they might just buy the browser and not necessarily the whole company.

I'd love to do that..

...and I had 2 glorious years with it. My Palm Pre (original) is locked to O2 and I've moved to Vodafone because of no signal at home and am using a custom Android 2.2 ROM on a ZTE Blade. Would love a Pre 3. For me, WebOS is wonderful to use and would have done very well in this test.

WTF?

Share the secret..

I too have a San Fran running a vanilla 2.2 ROM from the Modaco boys, so no operator crap over the top at all. I only turn data on when needed and switch my phone off overnight and I get 3 days from one full charge. Sooo, come on then...a whole week? Do share...or is it a little bit of porky fibbing..

Adobe bets on Flash 11 to fend off HTML5 invasion

Agree with Jellyjazz..

...about the lazy web designers. If html 5 'looks like a nightmare' in your browser, it's because the designer hasn't included enough to fallback to the browser you're using. Being a web designer myself (hopefully not a lazy one), I have produced many html 5 web sites that look almost identical (the odd rounded corner being different etc..) and work all the way back to IE6. You just have to make sure your site caters for older browsers.

Remember, it could be HTML 5, 6, 7 or 108, but that wont make everything work properly unless the coder/designer decides to build it properly..

Apple v Samsung: Jobs strikes back

Sigh...

I'm not for or against any company (just like good products from many different companies), and I've never joined in with any company bashing in the past....but, I am becoming tired with all this as I'm sure many of you are. Please...Apple...just stop it, carry on making your products and leave it at that (and don't think all you other companies are off the hook either!). You can't moan about others stealing your ideas when you do this: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/06/08/apple_copies_rejected_app/

WebOS is the daddy!

I still have my original Pre and still love it to bits. The touchstone charging is still brilliant and I hope they've kept this (I may have missed it in the review). WebOS is just brilliant and so quick and easy to use.

Unlike chriswakey, I have had no problems at all with mine. It still works perfectly, gives me nearly 2 days of battery and feels very sturdy. I do share his comments about the tablet though, I can't wait to see what HP come up with as WebOS would be perfect for that. The App Catalog will only grow from here, but even though it 'only' has 4500 apps, that really is plenty. The writing was on the wall for the Pre (and pixi) at one point so I hope HP can evolve this brilliant product futher.

Me too!

I also love my Palm Pre. Web OS is by far the best operating system on a phone I've used. It's fantastic to develop apps for too. Can't wait for HP's tablet to come out. I just wish I wasn't locked to O2 for another year with it, they are shocking!
