Not quite sure why you thing demand for bandwidth will top out... new services are constantly being introduced which will use more and more data
My guess is that currently most people use very little data, and a small proportion of consumers use a great deal. It doesnt take much imagination to see that if the behaviour of those few consumers starts to become the norm (probably driven by price of mobile data dropping) there could be an order of magnitude increase in data being consumed.
Plus the usual growth from devices wanting HD video streams when perviously it was SD only etc
You are just letting your anti apple perspective run away with you. The consumers pay for data, the provider sells that access, but decides it can apply a tax on a particular service (which it doesn't provide itself).
Well that fine until they decide to do the same thing to skype... and the next service (iplayer anyone) and then the next, until the provider is taxing all of the added value things you want to do.
It's crap, and I hope Apple fights AT&T on it, the principle is important, not your dislike of apple.
Actually to be fair, that's to add LTE and 3G, which no one I know of is doing for £100.
The base model costs are quite reasonable, it's just the extortionate amount they want to charge in order to add memory that makes me baulk.
I am most pleased at being able to delete stuff from photo stream though. Don't understand why it was ever missing...
