I am 52 I can’t wait to retire
It’s going to be at least another 10 years but not using any Microsoft products is what I am most looking forward to.

I also had a physics teacher who had lost a couple of ends of fingers as a teenager making his own fireworks. He taught us how to build firebombs and also took on out to the field and let off a banger that knocked us off our feet at 40 meters. As for the tray of petrol and the bucket of water on the long jump pit the less said the better. He retired after we did our Physics GCSE because he refused to teach combined science.
Back when I used to actually touch computers for a living rather than drive a mouse and keyboard I was the lead engineer installing branch servers for a British company that made oxygen
These were tower servers to support a windows 95 rollout. Most were installed in stationary cupboards with no special environmental.
I was called to go and check on one we installed a few weeks later as it has stopped working. It looked find from the outside so I disconnected the power and cables put it on its side and opened the side panel.
What erupted from wiring was a black sludge that came out 15-20 cm from the case. It was sticky and disgusting but also a mystery.
After talking to the office manager we found out the computer had been making the room too warm so the little windows had been left open.
I walked around the side of the building and the building was actually built into a hill side and parked with its exhaust pointing directly at the window was a lorry. Each morning and throughout the day 10-15 small trucks would park there and when they started their engines pump a black cloud directly through the windows. The computer was dead
I am more concerned about the fact my main contract is with a large multi national and they still haven’t made a decision.
The tool says I am outside. My manager agrees but we have legal, tax, partner management and HR all saying it’s one of the other decision.
I take financial risk, I set my own hours, I decide where I work and my manager doesn’t control me.
If I accept a project within the contract that has 20 days PM time at £500 a day I get paid £10,000 at the end. If it takes me 25 days I still get £10,000.
I have two main issues
First, CEST clearly puts me outside IR35. I take a financial risk and the end client doesn’t control my work. However, I suspect the end client will end up just blanked deciding I am inside
Second, worse actually is that they still haven’t advised us if we are inside or out so we can’t do any realistic planning. I am assuming the worst.
My iPhone 6s battery now lasts half a day. The phone is over two years old but I can’t find a replacement. I just want a decent smart phone that I can run Skype, boxer, Facebook, eBay, no games reasonable camera but must have headphone socket.
Guess I am going to end up with an Android but my one android phone I have had was far too frustrating.
That's not actually true
Some people can have a lower natural HR not caused by a medical condition. The resting HR has a normal distribution with a mean of around 60 for a normal person. So some people can have resting HR of 50 or even lower without either being extremely fit or a medical condition.
I have a resting HR of 48. I do run recreationally - park run 27 min - 20k total a week 90ish KG
I do own a Fitbit with HR and resting it is quite accurate exercising less so but I do find its stairs count to be particularly problematic. Often when I run on the flat down by the canal it logs 30odd flights of stairs.
Finally when I do run I can sustain a Fitbit HR above 160 for an hour on a 10k. Again had this checked out and yes my HR really does do that again not normal
I have to admit I thought it was over priced and still do but I have spent the money and love my Sono's kit.
The flexibility and functionality are great. It finally managed to convince my wife to put the CD's in the attic. I put my 3 in the kitchen for a family get together then wasn't allowed to take it back to my office :) Had to buy another one
