UK nuclear: Walking into darkness with eyes screwed shut

mark a.

Consistency

I don't mind what measure you use in particular, as long as it's consistent. For example, showing the number of deaths from nuclear against the number of deaths from coal is useful.

Then do the same with illnesses, impairment, quality of life or whatever.

Google pulls trigger on 'Instant' search engine

Thumb Up

Thanks

Thanks Steven. I'm used to Google not really working for some things on Opera (e.g. Picasa Web), so I'll let things be whilst we all get used to the instant search.

Stop

Opera

Does anyone know why it won't work in Opera? (It's working in Chrome here.)

Opera: Firefox tab sets? We've had 'em for years

Happy

I never knew that

Well, the things you learn about something you thought you were familiar with.

It's still not that clever, though. To improve it, you should be able to have more than one group in one window and be able to name the group yourself (as opposed to having the group named by the open tab).

Apathy kills Google's new-age Wave

Shame

I liked Wave. It kept topics of conversations together without having to search through subject headers in email.

I wonder what will happen to Wave? Will all my waves be archived? At least with email I can have an offline copy on my computer.

Amazon takes Kindle to the UK

Good news, sort of

I couldn't bring myself to buy one from the US store, especially since returns and repairs would have been a major pain. Having it come to the UK is much better.

The new Kindle 3 seems nice enough, and might be worth a punt. However, I think I'd prefer the DX (which doesn't seem to be for sale on the UK store) and there's still no epub compatibility, which is a pain because the council library has just started doing free epub lending (DRM, naturally).
