I have a Surface Pro 4.... I'm on the seventh warranty replacement device.
First one was new (obvs), the next five - refurbs - and then after a (written) letter of complaint to MS, I got a new one which was brand new.
The latest is okay... although build quality is poor at best compared to some I've had before - so I dread to think what it's like internally.
But it's not crashing, vibrating, or with any screen defects - so it's a good start.
All seven have made strange noises which I've not heard in any other device - squealing and clicking noises which appear to come from where the power is managed, and also the CPU (not from any moving parts!).
It's a potentially nice bit of kit... but I wouldn't buy another one.
No chance - it's higher education - mention the R or S word and you'll have the unions in full action!
(On a positive, the best days I had working in HE IT was when the unions went on strike... a very quiet and peaceful day in the office with a selection of my finest colleagues - good days!)
Based on my experiences as a daily Virgin trains rush hour user, if the train is "ram-packed" you can't walk from one end to the other... whilst I'm not sure I trust Virgin trains to not spin things too, I actually don't have any issue with them sharing the CCTV in this case - I'd say it's in the public interest to expose a lieing scheming politician - oh wait... that's just a standard politician. My mistake.
The Police just don't have the knowledge and experience to make decisions like this. Decisions should be made by a court which can ensure proper consultation - it need not be a lengthy process - there are many other decisions which require court approval and procedures are in place to run them through quickly, even out of hours - why can't this be done here?
Anything like this must be transparent and accountable - something that's seen by the authorities as unimportant nowadays.
