Sites knocked offline by OpenDNS freeze on Google

Some of the comments above about websites relying on Javascript are missing the point. If Javascript is present it is there to do a job. If it is not functioning then the sites is not working as intended and therefore requires attention.

Just because we were scrabbling around fixing sites doesn't mean those sites were crippled, just that they should have been working better.

That obviously doesn't extend to email. BT have been performing wholesale blocks on emails from legitimate websites for a number of years based on very small numbers of "spam" reports from idiots who don't know the difference between "report and spam" and "unsubscribe".

Just get on the beta for Swype. Despite what the article suggests, it is proving absolutely flawless for me. On the 3rd beta version i've used on my nexus now and the similar keyboard systems don't come close. for 60p though I'll give this one a go as well.

There will always be people who look at the permissions list and go WTF?? Think about it though - it's a keyboard. If they want to they can track every keypress you make. If you don't trust the people producing it then don't use it. Better still, blow the dust of your old Nokia 3210 and stay away from scary smart phones.

There seems to be a run of FUD from the AV outfits at the moment. Sophos has a different spin of the same idea recently: Armies of "blackhat SEOs" monitoring g.trends to push scamware. Their examples were equally poor.

Great phone. Bollocks marketing.

Google changed their mind because they were pissing off too many people that they want to do business with. Shame in some ways as the N1 is great kit (I love mine more than is healthy. My wife and child can only look on jealously). However it's the best for android as a platform, so good call even if the justification is drivel.
