smile

Had an e-mail this morning from my bank (smile) that they're enrolling in VbV and that one of the security questions asked as part of the bank logon is now our VbV password - not sure if this is a good thing or not yet

Why is Ruby on Rails so darn slow?

@ReadyPeople

Agreed - I've been developing some small/mid-sized sites using RoR but I've recently switched to Django and mod_python - the sites are faster and on the whole more reliable - I was a Python novice before this, but I've got up to speed on developing Django/Python apps very quickly and won't be considering going back to RoR in the near future!

@Anonymous Cable

I'm a Virgin Media L user (on cable) and my torrents have never been throttled to 10k/sec - I'm currently seeding at around 45k/sec - downloads generally hit an average of 450k/sec - about what I'd expect from a 4096/384 connection.

v20?

The latest firmware available for the N95 is v12.0.013 and I'm not seeing an available upgrade from Nokia either on their newsfeed or via the Nokia Software Updater

Multi-monitor support

I've already reported to Apple the problem that if I try to maximise Safari on any apart from my primary screen, Safari disappears, but the task bar item still stays there - the only way to get it back is to kill the process.

DNS problems

Looks like it's DNS issues rather than domain expiry - the whois record for themirror.co.uk shows it as registered till 14th June 2006.

NS records for the domain are ns[12].zales.co.uk - zales.co.uk was registered by the same person that registered themirror.co.uk - and www.zales.co.uk goes to Internic as well, so looks like a DNS/hosting issue rather than domain expiry/hacked website
