Actually, the thing with Reader was that it didn't have really any support or good personnel. But it did cost quite a lot, as you might imagine: worldwide storage of every rss feed there is, searchable, with every user having different tags on each of their feeds and feed items... there was a good post about this from an ex-reader googler on a website. Let's just say rss might just be text, but it is way too much text if you take EVERY rss feed of the world combined.
although I'm a bit younger, I do have to agree, wholeheartedly. Audio quality has gone down the drain in the last decade or so, in portion thanks to these fashion cans, and also to Apple's dumping. Mobile phones in themselves are another source of this trend, as they are generally whoefully inadequate, compared to earlier, goond quality dedicated music players.
I'm thinking of my good old, retired half brick iRiver H-340 that still beats every mobile I've had as another reviewer in my grasp, at least in terms of quality, but sadly, the days of these beastly masters are nigh over, as is that of the wired remote that I could operate blindly.
What do we get now? I have to fish out the phone to change albums or tracks, or get a bluetooth can that has its own battery life, sub-par audio, connection issues and all the other things that you really don't want to deal with.
Quantity over quality.
Ah, so it is in a way like the S9000(9500 in eu)/S9100 (9600 in eu) series that I still use . Looks like a DSLR, but with all the drawbacks of not being one, while costing about as much as an entry level one.
Love the manual controls, the styling, but it REALLY would've been much better with a proper lens mount. Shame, really.
I have been using LP for ages now. Much better than the normal UI and as said, snappier. It was worth every penny!
I do have to disagree with this one though: "the text in the social network widgets is too small". Maybe because I'm using a WVGA (800x480) and I don't hold the phone at an arms length, but I never found them too small.
"The security measure, which goes well beyond what many banks and e-commerce sites offer, was first made available to Google Apps customers in September."
Wait, what? I'm sorry, maybe in your country. Here (Hungary) you actually can't have az online bank service without a mobile phone. Every time you log in or wire money, you get your one-time pad with additional infos (target account number, how much you're going to wire).
Oh, wait, I remember reading about UK banks a couple years back. So they still haven't implemented this security feature? I guess it is easier to say "it is your fault" then actually doing something to prevent it.
Ever heard of this?

No, using open sourced software is not inherently safe from built-in "extra" features. Plus reviewing, rewrinting or even understanding all code you use is completely and utterly impossible. Especially in heavy industry, where a bug or miscalculation will cause millions in damage and possibly the loss of lives.
