Google promises what Jobs hates in next Android

WTF?

No support for Bitmap graphics?

Nokia's N900 and the PS3 both have full Flash Player 9 and are based on the Linux desktop code base, not Flash Lite.

The feature comparison table clearly describes that the BitmapData class is partially supported. That's not bitmap image support, but rather the ability to alter the image bytes at runtime. As a developer you would use it to apply tints to your photos, or create highly efficient caches.

Do you honestly think we'd ship a Flash runtime without the ability to display images? :-)

Stop

Poor assumptions

We will release Flash Player 10.1 on Android devices in the first half of 2010, the schedule is unchanged as published 1 year ago.

Additionally, our CS5 products do not export to HTML5 Canvas. This was a futures demo and may not appear in products, although it makes sense for us to support HTML5. Check out our comparison of the two technologies here:

agreed

One of the biggest misconceptions about Flash is that we own all of it. The Flash Platform contains a number of licensed technologies that we pay for on behalf of users.
