But its not subtle. Its tacked on and quite frankly, rubbishly written. Its clear that at some point in a meeting somebody said "lets make Amy Pond have a baby who is river song!" and they all went along with it. These people should not be allowed to make TV proggrames ever, ever again.

On the surface it looks like clever and almost high brow sci fi , but it really isnt. Its just badly written, confuloted, and silly ideas thrown into a pot, and called time travel.

Plus the characters arnt developing at all. Why isnt Rory barking mad? He spend at least a century on his own, dressed like a roman, looking after a stone cube. And every bloody week they kill him, and bring him back. He should be bat shit insane by now. Not still gurning like a goon, following amy like puppy.

i seem to be in the minority

i dont like matt smith. from my point of view, he seems to be just doing a pretty piss poor attempt at a Tennant impression. Plus the recent series plot (?) arc is so daft and stupid it makes me shout at the telly. It seems that moffat is just making it up on the fly, and throwing anythign that seems cool at it: river song being amy ponds daughter, is particualrly annoying, as its pointless and just.......daft.

I have no empathy for Rory, and apart from gloriuos pins, amy pond could die for all i care.

I was really disapointed by this new direction from moffat, i had high hopes. But its just a mess of poor writing, silly story arcs, and totally forgettable actors.

oh and why does noone mention "midnight"? One of the greatest bits of acting Dr Who has ever produsced.

amazon had them the 16gb at £89 early this morning (12.15am) , they showed as temp out of stock, but allowed me to buy it. its now showing as not yet dispatched. so fingers crossed.

quite looking forward to it. at £89 its a steal. even if android never turns up, webos seems like a competant system for surfing, iplayer and generall fondle tom foolerly.

i agree completly. the two markets are completly different. phones are ok for little puzzlers or angry birds, but for somthing more deep or complex you need real controls.

I am a complete sony playstation fan so i have a ps3, psp and more tellingly the xperia play. and ive played games on the play that id have never player on antoehr android phone due to the touch controls. Things like emulators (swos ftw) and space sims are so so much better on the pad.

And as a fanboy the vita is a day 1 purchase for me. cant wait

Iv got one and love it. its a perfect mix of android and gaming. yes there are a few niggles: no hd video, no tv out, and the screen is a little dim. but thats about it.

The idea of having a joypad contected to a phone is genuis, and im surprised that its taken so long to do. You mention the bulk of the phone as if its a bad thing, but of course it will be bulky, all qwerty slide phones are bulky, and this is the same but with a joypad.

Im surprised you mention 22 hours of battery life as if it was a bad thing. My HTC Desire would manage 9 or 10 then die. Ive found the battery life to be excellant on this phone.

And how could you talk about the gaming aspect of this phone but not mention emulators? Android is awash with emulators for mega drives, snes and amiga and this phone really shines when used with these.

Im surprised that you guys didnt mention the lack of intrigration into the Playstation Network, as this is its major failing. There currantly is no connection between the phone and the psn. I expected it to be able to log into the psn, to download ps1 games, or use remote play, this is ment to be coming with playstation suite, but hasnt materlised yet.

all in all i think its a great phone. and a great return to form by sony erricson. especially since they got rid of the integrated media/timescap nonnsence. so id give it 80%
