Yesterday I was buying something online using Chromium Version 55.0.2883.87 Built on Ubuntu , running on Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bit).

IIRC I had clicked on the PayPal button when a Google box appeared saying something like "As this is a Google approved store would you like to pay Google instead?" It also mentioned £1000 cover for losses. I should have taken a screen shot but I was so annoyed that I hastily closed the box.

I have never seen this before, has anybody else?

After a quick count I seem to have been to 26 different countries, some multiple times. Other than the UK I have lived and worked in four of them. My current work takes me around the UK, sometimes I'm up to a month away in a particular location.

Anyway I now see that Trump has helped his rich friends get richer. Do not be fooled by the "Trickle down" theory, Thatcher already did that in the UK. The money never gets to the workers at the bottom of the pile, it goes sideways into a tax haven.

A friend recently took a two week trip to the USA to visit his children. After the visit he bought a train ticket for an early morning departure. He asked if he could stay overnight in the station and was told it was OK. At some point the police arrived and told him to leave, they did not accept that he had a valid ticket. Then they handcuffed him and stamped on the cuffs which hospitalised him due to hand injuries.

Pre-EU i worked for a company that rented professional audio equipment. I regularly took a >£100,000 gadget to Holland and this is how it worked.

In Harwich dock I had to go to five different porta-cabins and stand at a window in the rain while getting my papers stamped.

On the Dutch side they had everything in one warm building with showers and coffee machines. On one trip some jumped up official in Harwich forced me to alter the paperwork which meant that arriving in Hook van Holland they asked me for, IIRC, one million guilders in VAT! I had to take the next ferry back to Harwich :(

You can get for free but you have to make at least two calls through BT per month. Look in the phone book under "Privacy".

I use a prefix when dialling for cheap calls but made a point of making those two BT calls a month. (shows how much I hate BT!)

Then Caller ID stopped working but I got charged for a whole year before it was fixed. Any chance of a refund? Nope :(
