I learnt something after having a fake "HMRC" call from a young woman who had a strong Indian accent. I repeatedly stated that her parents must be very disappointed with her because her job was scamming people and that she had let down her family by being involved in a criminal organisation. She repeatedly stated that she was from the HMRC and I suddenly realised that she might also have been duped by others and really believed that she was working for the HMRC. She genuinely sounded astonished. It wouldn't be difficut for someone in another country to put out adverts for "support workers" and convince them it was legitimate. There's always another side to any story...
I have to disagree with some of the rather (IMO) harsh comments here. He founded a company that designed and produced robotic arm technology and computer assisted surgical tech... (anyone who has worked in that field will tell you how rigorous your design and quality need to be). He then sold the company and the tech. for an absolute shitload of money to a market leader in this field.
The slightly sad part of this (as this article correctly points out) is that the knowledge his engineers gained in the R&D will likely be lost or go to other companies.
There's no shortage of people, particularly in the USA, who are over hyping the next best thing. And it seems no shortage of people willing to jump off the cliff with them. Buyer Beware?

Bloody Hell - this reads like an article for 11 year olds. Sorry to the author - I do appreciate the time and effort it takes to write but come on....
Yep - sorry - you're right. I don't know what came over me when I posted that comment. Exasperation? Possibly. Fear? Almost certainly. In my defence I had just read the article on civil forfeiture in America and was probably in a state of concussion. It's not that my country has laws any less deranged than your own, my real problem is that your country seems hell bent on exporting or this particular type of insanity to the rest of the planet. Sorry 'bout that.
