Microsoft releases kernel for unique (but critically panned) Surface Duo phone

Nice but

I quite like the device format, I’m just not sure why any one would want one, too small to replace a tablet whilst not feature rich enough to replace a similar priced premium phone. Size wise I want my phone to fit in my pocket, I don’t mind carrying a tablet in a bag.

Also noticed in few reviews that the hardware struggles when the device goes through its various screen transitions, I’m guessing it took a bit too long to get this to market.

Bus pass or bus ass? Hackers peeved about public transport claim to have reverse engineered ticket app for free rides

Re: Free public transport in the UK?

I left before the age of majority but remember it was 2p within one town and 4p to enter the next, I could go 6 miles in one direction but it would cost 4p to go half a mile in the other, amazingly annoying at the time.

Biggest problem was conductors didn’t like 50pence coins and don’t even think of presenting a £1 note, although not that many people had those in S York’s back in the day.

Always surprised when colleagues tell me they never read their T&Cs, and barely read policies, then wonder why they get annoyed when they don’t get what they think they should have.

Personally never signed a contract without being aware of what I’m committing to, I also try to get hold of the key policies that mean something to me.

Watch Series 4: What price 'freedom'? About as much as you'd expect from an Apple product

Does a Job

Currently using the Series 2 and I’m wanting to buy the Series 4, however, as a lot of the improvements have appeared on my watch and the battery is still over 50 at the end of the day I don’t know why I need to just yet.

If it’s not for you then it’s not for you, and if apple isn’t for you then this is never going to find it’s way to your wrist.

If you can get over yourself and give it a go then you might find this a handy little bauble that cuts down the number of times you have to dig out your phone, try it, works as a watch and a great remote if you’re consuming media. There’s also enough sports apps to make it useful here, makes a great golf watch and the workout detection is a nice to have.

The only thing making me want to make the switch is the increase in memory, it’ll now take a decent amount of music, but then I know my earphones will play up when I switch devices. The only improvement I’d like is the ability to pair with more than one phone, it’s amazing the amount of checks my work iPhone gets compared to my personal one.

Who's paying

I guess by income streams he is referring to the fees paid for the cards and additional costs born by providers of services by the electorate, stealth tax then to increase the size of the Gov.

Well done the govt.

Air Marshal: RAF may not have to be disbanded

Now then

Firstly he is a Air Chief Marshall not Air Marshall, but that's not important.

There is no reason why there cannot be a single armed service, however, there will be little saving to be made, most back office functions and support organisations are fully integrated and Tri-Service, there is little if any duplication or triplication of effort. People on the outside might not notice this but those on the inside are fully aware of this.

The only real saving is in the Management costs, the number of Admirals, Generals and Air Officers needs to be cut and this is the only area where any real saving will be made. We will still need the same number of deployable military assets as recommended in the upcoming SDR no matter which cap badge they are controlled by.
