because you have the option to upload your data to the website to compare with other journeys, some bean counters like to have excel spreadsheets with this type of stuff. It mentions this fact in the article (the journey logging online, not the bean counter stuff)

iOnRoad Augmented Driving
This may be a good app for those of us learning family members to drive - my other half follows the car in front far to close, perhaps this might be the gentle reminder she needs rather then me trying to push an imaginery brake peddle and telling her to back off.
I like the register, its a utopia of the best drivers, programmers, policitians, judges etc etc

RE USP
Maybe some people who have android phones would like to run android on their netbooks that currently run Win7. Not everyone love Linux the same as not everyone loves Windows or OS-X. Some people just use one that they are used to or one thats best for a certain purpose.
I can see Android working on a netbook being fantastic, proper keyboard and with an SSD fast bootup times + battery life.

My 3GS has been fantastic ever since I got it - about 2 years ago, runs iOS 5 nicely so why upgrade? Her indoors HTC Desire, despite being half the age doesn't have any 'official' updates, sure there are people porting later versions of Android over but an non techy person is not going to know about this or indeed do it.
Can we admit that Apple have supported their products longer then any other manufacturer have supported an Android phone?

The title is required, and must contain letters and/or digits.
Prob a better analogy would be a Ferrari with a Toyota Aygo engine in.
I've got 1 month left until I'm free of O2 with their 'unlimited' data cap, already getting texts and withheld numbers calling to say that they believe i've been paying too much for my mobile and to phone now to renew and save money!

End of the line for ID cards

Forward to the Past
Might as well keep the equipment as when Labour get back in, chances are they will bring back ID cards but it will cost more then £330 million and then Ryanair will charge you an extra tenner for using an ID card rather then passport.........then charge a tenner for using a passport.
An iPad for under 200 quid*
State the obvious
Read the article, it states that if you can't afford to pay £529 for the thing from Apple then many people (who are not as wise as el reg readers) will see the £200 price tag and get one. They won't even think about the TCO of the thing with the contract, all they will see is the saving of £329 when in reality its costing them £848.
Its exactly like Brightstore, watch people get a no name brand tv for £3.50 a week for 8 years. There should be better regulation about such practices.
