Hmmm
Apple, Miley Cyrus, Twitter, emoji and MTV
Think that list encapsulates the entire vacuous, air-headed, brainless bunch of worthless individuals on the planet.

It's time for the rest of the techverse to play catch up and adopt
And spend the next few years fighting Apple patent lawyers because they tried to use magnets in power supplies or connectors with rounded corners.
You don't actually think Apple would licence magsafe and lightning to their competitors for a reasonable fee?
Saw one of the Viewsonics in a museum in the summer, not as an exhibit, but, as a video player. It was mounted next to a display and had a host of videos loaded, explaining different things about what was on display. Worked very well. No instructions needed, just a screen full of thumbnail videos, so you easily see what it was about and a prod with a finger was all that was needed to get them playing.
OK, can someone explain how the bitcoins get transferred from one account to the other, and there be no trace whatsoever of where they've gone? Surely the coins have to go somewhere? And they are only of any use to a criminal if they can be converted into real cash? That means that a bitcoin account must have a real world bank account attached to it? And the worlds police agencies cannot trace that?
What it needs, for carriers to remove their collectives fingers from their arses, is a little persuasion.
If, for example, someone with an S4 (after Samsug has released the update required) happened to stumble on a compromised website, entirely accidentally of course, and was pwned, could they then take the negligent carrier to court, as their inaction has left the phone insecure, despite a fix existing and being available?
"Our industry is working hard to bring content to audiences when they want it, where they want it"
Crap.
I bought a triple play DVD and tried to register the digital copy. It failed to work, of course. After at least 6 new codes from Fox, I gave up, and ripped the DVD. So, technically I broke the law.
Also, why do I have to download a digital copy when there is quite probably plenty of space for it on the DVD? Just put a non-DRM'd MP4 (pick your format) and let me play it on my laptop, on my tablet. Is it really that difficult?
"But I still don't understand why the strip club is suing Oracle"
Really?
Strip club sues man over unpaid bill
Strip club sues massive multi-billion dollar high-profile tech company over unpaid bill
Which headline gets the most clicks and gets shitloads of free advertising for said strip club?
Stop at step 1...
1. So you log into gmail or Google+ or whatever.
Why log in at work to gmail or google+ ? Isn't that why you've got a phone or tablet in the first place? To access your stuff when not at home?
I never log in at work, only at home. So, if someone is remote wiping my phone, I'd be far more concerned that they'd broken into my house and hacked my laptop.
Having said that, does anyone know if you need to re-enter your password to wipe it? Don't fancy trying it, just to test the theory.
Most folks would wake up as soon as someone moved their hand, let alone pressed it on the scanner. Perhaps some might not notice, but everyone else in the carriage sits back and watches such a careful theft?
Never been on the last train out of a city centre station on a Friday or Saturday night then?
Wow, you really are deluded, aren't you?
Do you really believe that everybody in the world, who owns an Android phone, actually wanted an iPhone but is too poor to buy one?
As for the only reason iPhones are browsing is because their owners can afford it, that just beggars belief. Never heard of wi-fi or unlimited data plans?
You're either a troll or an idiot, I'll go with idiot, and a cowardly one too.
They may not be liable for the content of every app on the app store, it would be unworkable for them to monitor everything. However, when they receive a letter of complaint, informing them that an app is illegally hosting content, and then choose to completely ignore that letter, it could be argued that, from that point on, Apple are condoning the illegal content and are knowingly profiting from that content.
Seems to me there are two types of thief who steal laptops, phones etc.
The first is an opportunist thief, who will steal whatever they can, to sell down the pub for a few quid for their next fix.
The second is the steal-to-order specialist, who is after laptops belonging to government officials, CEO's of multinationals etc.
The first type would be confounded by using password as a password, and the second has absolutely no interest in your photos of your aunty Edna's sixtieth birthday bash at the Dog and Duck.
Basic security is fine for the average person, just enough to stop other average people from accessing their emails, making phone calls etc. If you make the security too complicated, it will just not get used at all.
"a new fingerprint reader for iPhone smartphone is likely to spur widespread use of fingerprint readers as authenticators"
Really? I would've thought this appearing on an iPhone signals the death knell for it. Apple will no doubt have lodged a "on a mobile device" patent already (ignoring the Motorola phone with fingerprint scanning as prior art). Therefore, any use by other manufacturers will result in court cases and import bans.
I get the feeling some commentards on here really need a reality check and a sense of humour transplant. You REALLY believe that I have friends that would do that? Bloody hell.
It was obviously a joke situation, you didn't pick on the bit where I implied iPhone owners are invited to social outings and have friends?
@Grant Mitchell
"Yes, law enforcement would love it but are law enforcement going to break the law to get it "
I would say recent revelations would indicate that law enforcement agencies the world over are more than willing to break the law to get what they want.
Major tech companies have been feeding the NSA information for years, spying on their own countrymen, without any legal justification. Do you really believe they'll stop just because they've been caught at it?
