Christmas 2017 - still going on

My elderly parents were scammed out of £4k this week - someone very insistent claiming to be from TalkTalk tech support called three times a week for a month until they took him seriously.

I presume they installed a keylogger at best and potentially something nastier in their mac. Now I have to find anything left after the local computer shop had a go at it, and said it's all fine, without saying what they had done...

Interestingly Lloyds bank gave them their money back, so well done Lloyds.

PBX in a Flash - an Asterisk distribution - has been rock solid for me. It's configured via a very web 1.0 GUI, but it's fit for purpose - and significantly cheaper. My installation is just 4 lines / 8 extensions - but their helpful forum is full of pro's who install call centres and the like.

What non tech businesses now use Linux?

It's no great surprise that the various tech companies mentioned can successfully transition to Linux desktops.

Does anyone have real world examples of corporations or government organisations in other sectors (i.e. where MS Office was the main windows usage) that have successfully transitioned and made a financial saving?

Isn't the implication that the tax will be 20% of the difference between money and money out, with no allowances for accruals, asset depreciation etc.
