Windows?
I think you probably mean Microsoft Windows as the WIMP type OS was around before then, the Commode Amiga and Atari ST spring to mind, but I am sure there will be others who also pre-date the Microsoft OS.

Unauthorised distribution is against the software licence. Putting it on a hard drive the supplying the hard drive is distribution.
Are you saying that I could supply PCs with the latest movie blockbusters on and claim that I only charged for putting them on the HD and am not distributing them? No, I don't think so.
I think the repeated reference to Megaupload' as the 'Megaupload conspiracy' was what the poster was talking about, not the actual conspiracy charge.
For example if you were accused of murder you would feel aggrieved and worry about a fair trail if the press releases repeatedly referred to you as 'the murder John Smith'
I was always led to believe that there were a network of tunnels and underground storage at a nearby facility, and that one of the tunnels had been extended to Hanslope Park.
I have spent quite some time at the nearby facility, but never been in the rumoured tunnels or to Hanslope Park.
There are several third-party solutions, the most common one being used with a Touchstone charger. A search on eBay will bring results, although if you fit the wireless charging back it blocks the signal from the NFC reader.

"First the Browning Hi Power is a good arm. Its a slight improvement over Browning's 1911.
Out side of that... 1911 is still a great gun.
Personally I'd rather have a SIg P226 over the Glock. But that's just a personal opinion.
I think the Glock is a good basic weapon, but I'm not a big fan of plastic guns. Again its a personal preference."
Do you not know the difference between a pistol and a gun.........
"Agreed, when I was range qualified, we had the cheap and nasty SMG & when the weapon was being cocked, if not done correctly, it could chamber a round & fire, even though the safety catch was on - shudder!"
When I was a SAA instructor I had a cadet student on the range cock his SMG with a cupped hand in the rain. He only got the working parts back past the magazine before the cocking lever slipped out of his hand. The resulting bang and sight of a smoking hole in the ground by the toe of my boot remained with me for a long time. It was early in my career as a SAA and something I made sure would not happen again.
That said, I liked the SMG, it was basic but it worked almost always.
How come all the women who live in countries where shoes are not worn get laid then?
"Biomechanical analyses revealed that wearing high heels led to increased femininity of gait including reduced stride length and increased rotation and tilt of the hips."
The missed the word 'perceived' out of that sentence.
"What is really interesting is that Labour MPs are more innumerate than Tory ones. 77% compared to 47%. Possibly something to do with the fact that a majority of Labour MPs come from jobs that don't require much effort in terms of numeracy? A PPE does not help much except in politics."
What? They are all career politicians these days, none of them have ever had a proper job that required anything more than fence sitting and being snake-tongued.
As an ex-firearms instructor I can assure you you are wrong. Putting your founds into a magazine is filling the magazine. Putting the magazine onto the weapon is loading the weapon. And that weapon could be something as small as a pistol, which I certainly have loaded and made ready whilst driving a car.
"hexx
don't get the headline here, apple doesn't really need to care, it's HTC he didn't like the idea of sharing this stuff with samsung, not apple"
Apple have said they want Samsung's alleged infringing products banned from the USA as Apple will not licence the technology at any price. By being forced to show what technology they have licensed or exchanged with HTC and at what price is therefore potentially relevant.
The fact that neither Apple or HTC want anyone to know suggests that it may well be relevant.
The judge has seen what technologies are involved and has instructed Apple to give the figures. So they MUST be relevant.
"older people who use LOL as Lots of Love, for instance"
On FidoNet, which preceded the internet, LOL was "Lots Of Love." lol was "Laughed Out Loud."
Also you could capitalise one or two words to provide emphasis without some knob taking offence and complaining that you were 'shouting'
So your girlfriend and/or wife id going to trust this device, sitting there monitoring you. Even if it is not capable of actual video capture do you think they will believe that? So no more sex on the sofa, rug, floor, table, hanging from the chandelier.
This can not be planned as a home device, they really can not be serious.
"They (postal votes) should be banned unless you can provide a medical certificate to say that you are physically unable to get to a polling station"
So all the British forces serving overseas should not get a postal vote? Or people working off-shore on board merchant ships or oil and gas platforms? Or lorry drivers who will be working away on polling day? Or.......
The list is huge, unlike the intelligence that went into your post.
